I've just read Sebastian Faulks' A Week in December, in three great chunks, and all sorts of stuff from the story is still running around in my head. This is one of the best novels I've read in a long time: the characters are intriguing and have a great reality about them; the various stories run together and interlink in very tricky ways, and there's a good deal of humour in the midst of all the dark satire. And the ending is very scary: will what we expect to happen actually happen? It's very possible. On the basis of this book, I'd be happy to read more of Faulks - I'd already heard he was a top-notch writer. http://bookstove.com/book-talk/a-week-in-december-by-sebastian-faulks/
