i live in phoenix and there is not much chickens that are here except in Glendale. and then i was watching animal cops on discovery. the animal control was catching chickens because they are loud. how are they loud when most houses here are insulated?

No I don't. The sound of a chicken means there are eggs or a good soup to come from it - LOL What you might have seen was a person who had chickens and wasn't supposed to have them in a residential area. The place might have a city ordienance saying they can't have live stock and the animal control was dispatched to take them off the property because of it. This is my guess. As far as being loud, that isn't a problem for people here, but just has to go by the rules of where you live.

hi gorillafootprints925 many years ago, almost fifty,I used to' live in Tempe arizona and even then some were complaining because'some people had chickens in areas where it was permitted, claiming they were so loud. well not in my eyes. yet the wealthy in Phoenix and tempe had a whole slew of peacocks and those critters were'rellayh lot, extremely loud .pretty but loud.I kind of like the sound chicken make, its a sort of homey sound but then I was born and raised on a farm.
