I have now started to learn to draw cartoons with the idea of making extra money selling cartoons. How do you feel about this ? Is it a good idea ?

It sure could be if you have a knack for it! The drawing of the cartoon is something you can learn! But the content of the cartoon is the most important part, this is something that can not be taught! You either have or you don't! tdemex

We have a guy here, that I went to school with, that does this. He is also a comedian. He does good with it, even does some of the ones in the newspaper. I would definitely have something to back it up in case it doesn't work out.

If it's something you're passionate about, and your learning to do it well then I say go for it! There are plenty of things you could do with a talent like this...you could write comic strips for newspaper and magazines, you could illustrate childrens books...you could create your own character, make stories for him--and sell him! Don't give up on something you really like doing!

yeah, good idea,if you are interested in cartoons, just do it, it is not important how much you will get from it, but i am sure that you may make extra money because the price of cartoon is really high.
