I am not a rich person but i don t like to buy second hand things. All what i buy as secondhand things are old magazines, or some antiques, who i really adore; I like to buy all new,...clothes, furniture or electronics, even i don t buy many clothes, i prefear to buy less....but new. Of course, if one from my friends buy something and home she sea that is to small, or don t like color, i ll buy from she, if i like it, but only if she never wear that object, clothes, jewelery. I don t like buy second hand things; what about you? do you buy second hand ?

Not really. I prefer buying everything new, if I could. My father often said (with reference to cars), buy secondhand and you will inherit the previous owner's problems. The one and only time he bought a seconhand car, he ended up selling it as it gave him lots of problems. I prefer new things - they smell good and you know that you're the first one to use them.

No, i'm not into second hand items for hygienic reasons. I just feel more comfortable buying new ones and if i get them for a sale price that's good cause I'm cheap but i just can't deal with second hand items.

I know clothes are washable...duh! If you have no problem about second hand clothes then that's your thing I'm not asking you to be like me. No i don't bring my own plates and utensils to any restaurant cause restaurants have their own dishwashers and I don't have any intention of buying their utensils. Do you?

Hi, icesmile, I'm the same as you. I'm not rich, but don't like secondhand things, except the luxury goods which you can get from auction house. - But I cannot offer the luxury goods of course. Haha... For daily things, I really don't accept the secondhanded in fact, especially personal items, such as clothes and so one. For digital items or household appliances, I cannot accept them, but as one of upstairs said, when I bought it, I would get the faults, too. Unless I learn the owner very well, and make sure its all the faults I can accept, it's a risk for me. Meanwhile I'm not good at electronics, so I really don't know how to pick them and judge their quality correctly. So generally speaking, I prefer to buying new things. Though I'm not rich, I'm not too poor to buy new things, too.

I like the idea of recycling and I do occasionally buy pieces of furniture that are used. I like the idea of buying objects that have a history, so to speak. I used to buy second-hand clothing on a regular basis. Now, for health reasons, I prefer to buy new clothing. I do enjoy purchasing earrings and other items of jewelry that have been used. Everyone is different. I respect everyone's viewpoint on this topic.

Oh well, it all depends. I have to see if that particular 2nd hand item is worth buying in terms of the quality versus the price. That particular item have to be in so-called good condition as a 2nd hand item such that it can last for at least quite sometime and not just a few weeks or months and also the price is another issue I would look into because the price I am paying for have to be worth the quality of the product as well as it's durability. But still, I seldom buy 2nd hand goods unless that particular item really strike me as worth buying in terms of quality versus the price.

i agree with u, dknkyle. i am a wise buyer of second-hand items. i enjoy looking around and i am amazed with the cheap prices but very good quality items. some are even made from known manufacturers as can be gleaned by the brands and tags. it really doesn't matter to me whether these are second-hand or new items as long as they still serve the purpose i am needing it for.

I like to buy things second hand as you can get some real good things as well as save loads of money. If i buy second hand clothes or even given second hand clothes i always wash them. The thing i like about getting second hand clothes is you can get brand name clothes and they cost you next to nothing and they always look new when washed and ironed.

I do buy second hand things and I love looking for second hand things. Most of the things that I buy in second hand stores are clothing. There are many second hand stores in our place and many people also do buy them. Would you believe that the items in second hand stores are even sold on sale. That means, the goods are very cheap. We can buy adult clothing at 3 for P100 (or 3 pieces at $2) and they are in very good condition and quality.

icesmile.. same as you, I don't buy secondhand stuff for clothes, furniture or electronics items. I don't really trust those 2nd hand stuff. However, I will buy prelove children stuff like walker, bouncer or some toys, as I believe these children items will surely be taken good care.

Hello icesmile I don't like buying secondhand clothes too, furniture and electronics is all right but not clothes. I always go for quality over quantity when it comes to clothes. Most of the things they sell in secondhand stores have low quality.

I like to buy certain things second hand. I could always clean them up when I get home. I like to test them out at the second hand store to make sure they work properly too. Anything thing else that I can't buy second hand I will buy new at a discount at a store.

No. well, furniture maybe if it does look in nice condition, clothes not so sure, but electronics definetly not. i once bought a network card for a older computer of mine. now, obviously the card wasn't already too new so it could break down at any time, but the problem was that it was broken by the time it was sold to me without being checked probably. since i couldn't check for its proper conditions and then return it, i got burned.

...Hi icesimle, I love flea markets, and I have visited them a lot in the past. Mot too much lately. Whenever I go I seem to find something special. I collect older pieces of art work, little figurines and things that catch my eye. I found a Picasso piece at the flea market once, had my heart pumping until I got it appraised. Wasn't worth as much as I thought, but a very nice piece for value, to what I paid for it. :o) I am not one to purchase old clothes or shoes, but I have no problem with people who do, because all you have to do is wash or clean them. New clothes are probably worse than old ones for you, as there are chemicals on them and you should wash new clothes before you wear them anyway, especially underwear. Take care.

Buying a secondhand will cause you trouble. Why? It is because if you have notice (in appliances or electronics) the cost of buying a secondhand is almost double for the reason that you have to fix some of its parts. It is like inheriting the problem of the former owner of it. About the clothes or something that is for personal usage i preferably buying a new one. It has the security that only you will be the first and the very last person who will use it. This is to avoid hygienic problems such as bad odor that the previous owner may had one. Yuck! So be cautious about it. Maybe it is cheaper yet the problems will only occur after a few days or months have passed.

I don't mind buying things secondhand. Sometimes you can get really good bargains. Even buying a secondhand car is ok as long as you have it checked out thouroughly. They say buy a new car drive it out of the car yard and you lose $5000. I dont buy electrical second hand unless I know the person that is selling it. I sometimes buy second hand clothes, as long as they are in good condition I always wash them. You can even find them brand new in a second hand shop if you are lucky. Each to their own I guess. Have a nice day.

I don't really mind buying things second hand because they are a lot cheaper and usually their quality is still pretty good. I get a lot of books that way. I also like to go to second hand clothes shops to try and find some interesting attire.

Actually we buy also second hand things like clothes and there's nothing wrong about that. We are not rich buying second hand things here in the Philippines is so popular. Actually we don't throw things right away we always think that there are other uses for it. Second hand things is also somebody's treasure. If you have old clothes you can donate it here in the Philippines. The victims of the typhoon recently needs clothing because all of their possessions are gone. It would greatly appreciate by us if you have want to help us even in your own little way.
