In this case, the CEO of a Tax supported Hospital and network of clinics received a $1.7 million bonus for not retiring. HTTP://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2009961107_valleymed29m.html Not only that, but the guy is already a tax funded salary of $587,000 PLUS $235,000 for annual retention bonuses PLUS another $163,000 in incentives during the last 3 years. And when he does eventually retire he will get his pension. The weak argument for paying this guy so much was this guy is just that good at his job. But, apparently he doesn't know the law because he broke it when he used tax payer money to campaign for more hospital money and enlarging the tax district that supports the hospital. He was fined. But he paid the fine using the hospitals insurance, which is paid by taxes. I mean holy crap. What is this guy doing here on the local level? He should be in the big leagues in D.C. Do the people who worked hard to earn the money that would be taxed to support this hospital think the funds would line the pockets of this crap bag? Is this an isolated case? I think not. This guys name is Richard Roodman, spread it around.

That sounds like the whole CEO debacle that the looney left was all upset over last year... so what has now changed? Maybe it is because it is government funded... much like Fannie and Freddie and the bonuses there. This sound like a government perk that private corporations are not allowed to copy. So much for fairness ...

Right. What's the chances this dirtbag is gonna give his 'bonus' back?

Considering that the CEO's of both Fannie and Freddie got to keep their bonuses... I would say there's a snowball's chance....

If he were the CEO of a private company the government would be all over him if the stock holders did not vote him out first.

Yeah, but because it's just tax dollars apparently he isn't in trouble. I'm gonna try to keep up on this story.

These kind of earnings are almost too large for me to wrap my brain around! For heavens sake the man was just a Hospital Administrator and he has lots of people to do the administrating for him. I bet he cannot remember the last time he put in an eight hour day of real work. This kind of information makes me sick!

This is just a local incident, but I imagine we could find the same story going on in just about every corner of the country plus the middle.
