Which Season is your favourtie?

October 1, 2009 8:20am CST
I love being outdoors and watching as the seasons change, but I have to admit my favourtie season of all is autumn/fall. I love being outdoors and crunching through teh russet leaves and seeing the sun sit so low in the sky and highlight the tips of the clouds and the leaves on the trees such gorgeous shades. I love the fruit and nuts that appear on trees and bushes and the way the animals scamper or hop about collecting whatever they can. The smell of the woodsmoke from bonfires and the occasional foggy or misty morning that gives way to a cold, crisp and sunny day. What is your favourite season for being outside and why?

Me too. It's really mild in the UK at the moment, just right for hiking. I keep meaning to "do" the South Downs Way with my kids - but I never have time so we just go out on days. A few years back I took an Autumn break to the coast, just after there had been storms. The sea had had all summer to warm up, and the sun was still hot, so we swam and collected sea shells by day, then went back to the campsite and picked wild plums to stew up at night. We were the only ones there - on the beach and at the farm. Superrrrrrb.

sounds ideal! I usually try and holiday in autumn, like you say it's usally quieter then too just to add to the atmosphere :)I'm in the UK and have also done walks on the south downs way, and the coast paths down dorset/devon/cornwall. I have had some fantastic walks out with my dog recently, every day just seems to relax me more :)

I didn't check your profile - should have done! We stayed near Bournemouth - and it was amazing. Not too far out of season to be shut for the winter, and just quiet enough to be totally relaxing. The only problem is, the nights draw in early - so you have to go before they turn the clocks back.

i am like you because i love the fall. i love the crisp morning air, the crunchy leaves, the way the leaves change colour and all the autumn colours. i love pie and big pots of soup and other foods you associate with fall too.

while there's no spring in my country,I like it.I like the colors of spring.they're lovely and lively.the flowers begin to bloom again.the trees begin to bear fruits again.the nature is livelier during springtime.

I would say winter. Than agian I don't like the cold. I also like spring. I would pick spring than winter. It's less cold. I like the smell of rain and the smell and it's just an awsome weather. Where I live it's like that everyday. It's a nice place to live and stay.
