Argh! Ever since I started posting things here in mylot, I would receive responses that re totally out of the blue. Most of the time, they would just respond basically to promote something, which is I really find irritating and make me feel more agitated. It's like, I seldom find people making relevant posts. I would even more people that reponds just for the sake of increasing their number of posts! Sorry for all the anger expressed, but I am feeling a bit frustrated right now. Come on, I have thought easily all of the topics that I have written, and then you would be receiving comments and would be flooded on your topic page. Full of b***s**t. Anyway, I just wanted to know your thoughts about this. Am I the only person experiencing this one?

I get the occasional spam. I get the occasional off topic replies. Or replies where the person clearly didn't understand what I was saying. But it's more good than bad. Usually I get a lot of good responses. Some really funny ones too. Some of those really make my day!

There are times when I make off-topic responses, but it is usually only on my friends' discussions or as a reply to their response. When it is an off-topic reply to their response, I will respond (on topic) to the original discussion in my own separate response. Sometimes the off-topic responses are just fun and playful, but I won't do it on a serious discussion topic and I absolutely will not respond to something just to increase the number of posts. In fact, I have actually taken the time to read discussions and then haven't responded to them, because I couldn't think of anything to say that other people hadn't already said numerous times. I will admit, though, that it does sometimes bother me when I take the time to respond to a discussion and the original poster replies to almost every responder but me. I think that is very rude, especially when I not only took the time to respond but also put a lot of thought into my response and kept it on topic. I think sometimes that if you do not agree with them or try to express an alternate viewpoint without actually disagreeing, they do not like it so they won't respond. In my opinion, that is just as bad as responding off-topic to the discussion. Fortunately, I do not think that I have had any off-topic responses to any of my discussions. If I did, then they didn't really bother me. Actually, now that I think about it, I did have one person say that they didn't believe what I had said and I think they were calling me a liar, but I just asked them to explain exactly what it was that they didn't believe. They didn't answer further, but I guess that could be considered an off-topic response.

I totally agree with everything that you have said. As a matter of fact, it has been well-said. :D Anyway, I hope these people would get to realize that sometimes it is much better not to respond rather than ruin a topic, most especially if it's a good one. It's really nice to know that there are still some people like you that knows how important it is, and when you can joke around or not. I really appreciate you giving your thoughts about this. Enjoy posting. :D

I don't start all that many discussions. but the ones I have started, have never have never had responses off topic. I have seen others do that though, and I sit here shaking my head, wondering, what the? I think some of them do it just to get paid as they are trying to post as much as they can even if they don't make sense or are off topic, To me that is rude not to answer all responses. I alwasy answer all the responses I get, as it is only common courtesy to do so, as I feel if they are going to take the time to respond, then I am going to answer them. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

That really is a real mylotter. I really appreciate taking your time to respond something that really matters. I know, most people just do that, to increase posts etc. Thanks rose
