What has been your worst kitchen disaster?

I was once cooking apple and strawberry crumble for guests. I always make it but instead of using the usual flour, butter and sugar for the crumble I also add oats and it always taste delicious. This time it was more like apple and strawberry crunch - it came out alot harder and crunchier than usual. They insist on eating it - mind you there were are few brick jokes...lol

I was baking bread and had just filled the mixer with all the ingridients and had forgotten to put on the lid and turnd the mixer on and everything just flew all around the kitchen and made a terrible mess. It took me about an hour or so to get it all away. // Ejbrell

Wow that is definitely another one for the kitchen disaster Hall of Fame...lol I have done that with the blender quite a few times - but I can imagine dough like mixture being really tough to clean up!

Then again it would be a mixture of the ingredients because I am sure you truned it off as soon as you did it..

LOL don't you hate that? The good part about my "disaster" was that no one was home at the time, so I was spared of embarrassment (except for now - when I'm sharing it all with you on MyLot).. I was cooking cinnamin rolls one day- you know the kind you buy at the grocery store, Pillsbury, where you just grease a pan and throw 'em in there for 15 minutes...And some how, they started on fire. It was either because someone left the broiler on or because someone left tin foil in the stove. I never did figure out which it was. But either way, it started on fire! IN the stove and in the broiler. I freaked out, opened up the oven doors and pulled open the broiler.. and dumped water on it! Apparently you aern't supposed to dump water on an electrical fire (from an electrical stove). Nothing really happened too major except that smoke billowed EVERYWHERE and it freaked me out. And now I don't make cinnamin rolls anymore.. I'll just buy them at McDonalds instead if I MUST have them. .

Wow that really was a disaster - enough to put off making them for life...but I am sure one day you may be able to overcome and give it another try....
