Hi guys. Do you sleep with any sort of background noise? Nowadays I sleep with the sound coming from my heater. I do not think that I could sleep without it. Fortunately it is set to go off after an hour to save energy. It's weird because sound time ago, I required complete quiet to sleep.

i think you can become accustomed to anything. like me, i used to not be able to sleep if there was a ticking clock in the room so i had to move my moms clock to another room that i inherited. but now, i have a clock i aquired just a few months ago, that i've grown used to a gurgley noise it makes because i liked it so much, its antique and no one else likes it so it had to be in my room. but at least it dont sound like its ticking your life away like the other one did.

On many nights my husband falls asleep on the couch so when I go up to bed I am alone. So I will turn on the TV and watch it for a few minutes before I go to sleep and it usually ends up being on all night unless I get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and shut if off. Sometimes I will be dreaming and what is on the television will get in to my dreams. I have had dreams where I was suddenly in the middle of an infomercial, then I wake up and that infomercial is on. How sad is that?

I actually can’t sleep well with noises constantly around me. if I hear people talking near me when I’m sleeping, I easily get awake and it would take hours for me to get back to sleep. Good thing people hear in the house knows that I can’t sleep like that. In my room though, the air-conditioner is kind of noisy but not bothering.

Hello, I usually sleep with the TV on. It seems like if the tv is not on but not too loud I have trouble going to sleep. If I try to sleep with complete silence and darkness it seems hard to fall asleep. Sometimes I throw on some jazz music and play it softly which always works. It's not weird that's a normal thing. :D

Yes, I sleep with a fan, or more precisely an air cleaner. My husband is the one that turned me on to it after we had met. I thought he was so strange for having to sleep with a fan on at night. LOL But after I got used to it I couldn't imagine doing without it. Even more so now as we live out in the country. With so many noises from outside (trains, planes, and automobiles) we need to drown out the noise more than ever. LOL Happy mylotting!

I'm a light sleeper so I can easily wake up with just a little noise. I can't sleep well with noise.

I can't sleep even with the slightest noise. So I'll make sure that there are no background noises when I sleep. I would get really pissed if someone or something is making noise when i am asleep. Cheers.

The only background noise that I prefer when I sleep is music. If I am to be followed. I'd the music be part of my sleep. It makes me relax and sleep well with no bad dreams. But unfortunately, my mom turns off the component. I'd like to wake with the music still on but its not playing evertytime I wake up. Now, I am used to sleep without noise.

Its strange but i think i prefer quietness . but sometimes when you have done some hard days work ,you tend to sleep no matter what is going at the background. i usually keep my pillow on my head if there is a noise or not. sometimes even you haven't done any work on a day and you have say many problems which most of us do; then that's the time the noise help me to distract and got to sleep.

I used to. Before, we live near the highway. Big buses usually pass by at night. And we can hear and feel it pass by in front of our house. I got used to the noise that I don't care about it anymore.
