After the HP series, I have now shifted to the Wheels of Time series as Robert Jordan was highly recommended. Though the story is interesting it is largely disappointing and I get a feeling that RJ has spent more time in filling up the pages than thinking of the gripping elements in the plot. In fact, I think the series should not have lasted more than 5 books. What is your opinion? Cheers! Ram

During my undergraduate days, a few of my friends got addicted to this wheel of time story and it seems that is all they read whenever they find any free time. It has thousands of pages and they kept reading and reading. I don't even know if they managed to finish reading the story. I myself I don't read novels. I rather watch TV and movies. They assured me that when I begin reading this book I would also get addicted. I did my best and read like 200 pages but I stopped there and never looked at it again. The author just keeps explaining everything. Example, if a person walks into a room, the author would describe everything and everyone in the room and that would take like a page and a half or 2 pages. This for an action that in the real sense didn't take more than 2 seconds.

The initial few books were addictive, but with time it was clear that Robert Jordan was only trying to fill up the pages. There was so much scenario description and so less content that it really became boring as the series moved on... Cheers! Ram
