flats vs. heels vs. platform shoes

i love some height, but instead of using heels, i use platform shoes, the heels drive me nuts! my feet hurt a lot, especially when i walk within the campus and climb the stairs. there are some flats that are as fabulous as the heelies, minus the pain haha. what do you mostly use?
