i have to go with the Washington Capitals. They played my Toronto Maple Leafs last week and the Caps simply dominated. I think they need to clean up their defensive strategy, but once they have that figured out, they'll be unstoppable. Ovechkin, Semin and Backstrom are all all-star players. Still, I'm sure arguments can be made for other teams. Who do you like this year for the Stanley Cup?

Season is still young, plus beating up on Toronto isn't a very good indication. How about those Colorado Avalanche, having a good start with a bunch of rookies, the last game they beat the Redwings in the shootout was SWEEEEET.

I don't know about top teams, but here is my list of most improved in order of improvement. Thrashers,Coyotes,Senators,Avalanche, this list is based on records from last year, and expectations. I didn't include the Blues cause they were expected to be good. Now heres the list for biggest flops, Vancouver an Montreal, I didn't include the Leafs cause only the Leafs thought they could be good...lol I knew as soon they took Exelby off the Thrashers that they were in for a long season. Montreal just can't get consistent goal tending, an the Cannucks better start playing better or they will be out of it soon, they in a strong division and strong conference.

Avalanche's new goalie, Anderson, is doing quite well so far, and the new rookies are adding some sparks.

They stalled at the onset, but i still believe the Canucks will meet up with the Capitals on the finals. I believe the moves Mike Gillis did during the summer will bear its fruit on the road to the playoffs. Samuelson is a great pick up. Vancouver has never been as deep as this team. Only hope that Luongo will keep playing like Luongo. Sorry about your Leafs. A couple more years, and then Burkie can assemble a team that could contend.

i loved vancouver all through the playoffs last spring. fantastic hockey team. it was a shame they lost to the blackhawks. luongo was amazing. this season, i dunno what i think about the canucks. d. sedin is on the injury reserve, luongo hasn't been playing so hot... has the team lost something over the summer, or are they just putting together the pieces?

The Caps? LOL come on they still don't have defense an everyone is dominating the Leafs right now.
