i've already read the book before the movie was shown and I can say that I like the book better than the movie. The movie is a boring one unlike the book which is much more exciting.

I look at it just like any other fiction books, amusing. Much of it are hearsays and unfounded propositions. Many of which seek to destroy centuries of Christian beliefs but to no avail. I will not be surprised if many more of this kind will surface in bookstores in the future. Authors tend to publish sensational and controversial subjects to gain a wide market but at the end of the day, they will be unmasked as pure baseless speculations. Nevertheless, it's fun to read it. Our beliefs are strenghtened as they pass through the gauntlet of opposing views. have fun.

I read the book first. It was a phenomenal book back then. I was able to read it before the movie came out. I also watched the movie. I noticed that a lot of scenes are not there and you may never understand the story if you weren't able to read the book.

I read the book and also watched the movie. I loved the book; I remember I was intrigues by the theories (though fictional) it presented and I couldn't put it down. I went to bed thinking about it and woke up thinking about it again. However, I was sadly disappointed by the book. Tom Hanks did not fit the main character, and his acting was woody at best. There were also a lot of things missing in the movie that was integral to the story. Parts of it were even boring. I guess its because they were working with a timeline, and also some aspects of the story can only be described, not acted out.

Rosslyn Chapel interior - Rosslyn Chapel shown in Da Vinci Code
My daughters get me good books to read. They present me with books always for birthday or wedding day. My elder daughter has a book shelf in her house and all leading books are bought by her. So I never miss any good book. But many are pending for reading. Dan Brown is my favourite author and I read many of his books. Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Deception point etc. Out of these, first two have been picturised and I saw both of them. I feel second one is taken better than the first one. Da vinci code book was simply superb. I came to know so many things from that book. I never knew there is a meaning for last supper painting. I searched in the internet for the photo of the London Church in which she meets her family, and mounted it on my desktop. Sorry I bored you.

I read the book first too. I enjoyed the book very much, but I didn't like the movie even though Hans Zimmer was great with his background score. The music was just moving with the theme. I liked the movie only for the background music. Otherwise, it was shot too lame, especially the ending was very lame and not many would understand what he means, unless they read the book. Although the ending is a lame ending in the book, the meaning he brings to religious faith and occult studies and God is very profound and he attaches the actual meaning to religious faith and God. He tries to being a universal thinking to faith. But this was missing in the movie. But I liked Angels and Demons better, even though that was not what he meant in the ending of the book. They were too soft with the Vatican, whereas Dan Brown has been critical of Rome in both the books. I guess they didn't want to create one more controversy.
