Thanks for the news Chaitra. However, I couldn't open the page. Is this the same chap who had won the CNN IBN award and lives in Murshidabad, WB and is the founder head master of the school? He had i9nvited AAmir Khan to visit his school and looked as mature and confident as a Principal should!

Hi mimpi may be I am not sure this guy is from WB too.. I will post the part of the news for you so that you can read it.. In a country where we are in a continuous hunt for heroes and demi-gods to inspire us, the search ends in a small hamlet in West Bengal. Known for his passion for education, Babar Ali is perhaps India's youngest school principal who is teaching hundreds of poor students of his village in his own backyard. 16-year-old Babar says his only motto in life is 'education for all'. Since 2002, every evening, he has donned the role of a principal at the Anand Siksha Niketan in Gangapur village which makes him India's youngest headmaster. The students line up in Babar's backyard, where he teaches them just the way his teachers teach him in school. Babar Ali in an interview said that he never wanted to play cricket or soccer when he was young but what he loved the most was enacting the role of a teacher. What started off as child play took serious shape in 2002 when Babar Ali, with the help of his parents, set up a room to teach on his ancestral land. He also added that when he was in class V, he started the school with eight students. From a humble beginning, the school today provides basic education for almost 800 students with the help of 10 well-qualified teachers. What is most notable is that the students are taught for free as they come from poor families - some even work as maids and cleaners in the mornings and come to attend Babar's school in the afternoon. But even most of the inspiring stories have some grim realities which Babar has to face daily. The government only provides funds for midday meal and books till class IV and for the expenses he has to depend on donations. He, however, hopes for better support in the coming years so he can make all his fellow students and village kids literate, and able to stand on their own feet.

thats a very small age to be a head master. May be the school must be a private one and the director must be his relative. he is quite young to be a head master, teacher meant some sense but the head of all means a great responsibility work. Is he mature enough to run the school effectively?

Hi Chaitra, The link is not opening but I read your post of Mimpi it is really great. Presently education is considered as a profitable business and those who are running an institution never think to provide education as free. Some schools are providing free education for selected students but they are charging a huge amount of fees from other students. Here the boy is trying to educate all people as free. Considering his age, he is too small but shouldering a huge responsibility. He is really a dedicated person and he will become a famous person in future and can do wonders for poor people. I wish him all the very best. Thanks for sharing chaitra.

Not sure that is good news i mean honestly he is barely through puberty and yet he is a headmaster. Sounds fishy to me doent seem right that a person that hasnt ever really hit adulthood should bare that much responsibility when he should be livin life as a child.

I dont think he is wrong.. because he enjoys his childhood as well he enjoys teaching too.. He is educating children who are very poor and cannot afford 2 meals a day.. I think he is really great.. because no one is forcing him to that but instead he himself started this mission to educate the poor..

is it really for real? oh well, we should not doubt not doubt the boy's capabilities. I think he was doing a great job. we should not judge him that he cant run a school just because he's just 16 years old. I do envy him for being a headmaster at an early age.

I'm always happy when I listen that young people have spaces in schools and in other places such as politic, Tvs, newspaper and so on. They are really an important part of the world, that withouth them couldn't grow and watch to the future. The news made me think on the book "Utopia" where the Author talkes about a dream society. And I think it is good that a School for students is controlled by students if it works. Anyway I make myself, and to others, a question: What is the future of this boy? I mean, now he is still an adolescent, and that news will stop it. Now he has a lot of responsability, he works and take money for this reason. How his life will go? How he will react to "stopping beeing a teenager"? I guess it is not so easy. Just for people that don't know it adolescence is a period of life that goes from 14 years old till 20-22 years old. Anyway thank you to share the news with us.
