Do you think that employers should pay for continuing education?

With the economy the way it is, many facilities do not pay for continuing education, certification, or license costs. Do you think that it is fair to make employees pay for this independently, or should budgets be adjusted to accommodate at least some of this cost? What are your thoughts on this?

actually, we have this program in our company. our company pays or will shoulder 50% to 70% I think of the tuition fee for those qualified applicants especially if they are a loyal employee of the company and has high performance ratings. It is a good program because it will be a big help for those undergraduates that we have in the company.
