Freelance Writing Sites

October 19, 2009 12:18am CST
Hi everyone! I have a day job but my salary is not really able to compensate for all my needs and more--wants, thus, I have searched for online jobs. I love writing so most of the sites I visited were those that hire freelance writers (and some PTCs too). It is the main reason why I have stumbled upon MyLot. Does anyone of you know if these online writing jobs are not a scam? I have registered in the following sites: Essaywriters.net Writers.ph Academia Research Allwriting.net constant-content.com qualityresearch.org.uk It would be great hellp if anyone can tell me whether these are scams! Thanks in advance!

I have not joined those sites yet. Thank you for the information. I have been writing online on a number of sites. One of my favorite sites is "Review Stream". One can write brief reviews about a variety of things, things one comes across in the dya to day activities, shopping, movies, restaurants, hotels, and so on. When accepted and approved, one gets paid. I have been writing reviews there for over a year now.

Hi, I have also been writing for a couple of years now. I stopped for a while but I now find myslef in dire need for additional income. Anyway, is the pay good at Review Stream? How much is their average pay per article review? Thanks.

Careful, they may be scams designed to make you write things they would take away

I don't write for any of these sites. I write for Helium and Associated Content, both of which I have been paid from. Constant Content is well known, and many people write for this site, so I would not be worried that they are a scam organization. They are legit. As for the others, I am not sure. There are a number of sites that have writers do papers that they then turn around and sell to college students. They are legit sites, but you may have to wrestle with the ethics of writing for them. All the best in your writing!

I think the better way is open a blog with your own domain, then write what you want constantly, as a special place to just talk about one thing that you most care about, turn it into niche. But unfortunately, my native language is not english, I'll be less fluent. But for English speaking person, obviously that's a good opportunity

Yeah aprces I think youre right. However, I really do not have all the time in the world to manage my own blog site.

Hi Macleto! It's really hard to trust those sites for some maybe are just scams and after all your effort they will just ignore you. If you are looking for a legit site try odesk. There are lots of online jobs there and microworkers especially you love doing writings.

thanks junmae! I actually have an account at oDesk. It is not easy to land a job there though, because you still need to apply. Thanks for the info anyway, at least now I'm sure that I can trust oDesk.

you can make money from writing quick reviews (100 words) like you do in Ciao there's a great money-making site I know You get paid for writing short reviews about products/services/people... they pay 50 credits (50 cents) for 100 words -- that's pretty easy..and you could easily do that in less than 3 minutes... you also earn 10 credits (10 cents) for grading products/services/people... and 1 credit (1 cent) for rating products/services/people... when you have 2000 credits ($20)-- you can request payment via paypal and they pay really fast.... it only takes about 3 days to earn 2000 credits ($20)... so an extra $20 every 3 days added income aint that bad if you have the time for it.... if you have more time..you can earn even more... just be patient if your comment is pending...it doesnt take more than 24 hours for the credits to be added to your account...mine usually is approved iin 12 hours it's the Green and White banner in my porfile page (imrc) --below the Paypal banner..a truly legit site ..one of my faves!!! might wanna give it a try...good luck!!!!

I think constant content might be a good option. Another great option would be Hubpages. Try it, and the community's there not bad and quite helpful.

I read all the replies you got, i'm surprised at nobody mentioned the website called Helium. I just joined almost one month so I have not got paid. but as I know it's a very legit and popular writting website. if you are really interesting in writing to make extra money i suggest you joining Helium. here you also can find many discussions about the website. many members already got paid. good luck.

The only name on this list I have any knowledge of is constant content. I have not been there, but it has been recommended to me by several people. I use Helium and Triond and have had pretty good luck with both.

Hi, I've been writing for Bright Hub, Buksia, and Triond. They are really legitimate websites. I've just started with constant content and Infobarrel. I've heard about a website called Suite101 who really pays good for the articles. However, had no luck in joining them as my application gets rejected always. May be you can give a try.

Here's the deal: there are people making money with those web sites...and with countless others. Ive worked from home for years and it's simply a matter of applying their formula. If you can follow certain directions to the letter, then you can profit from many different programs. But allow for the time it will take you to gain proficiency in your new pursuit...thats where 99% of the people quit, they expect an immediate return...life doesn't work that way tho. pick one, do exactly as they say, and give it time...and always look for a money back guarantee, because anything worth trying is going to cost something. but it could be worth it...

Xomba is one that I recently found. It's easy to use. I've only been a member for a few days, so I haven't seen any earnings yet. Here is my xomba profile if you wanna check it out. http://www.xomba.com/user/alicia1985

Macleto, this is a wonderful discussion started, am so happy for the resources and list of sites you have given. I am not new to writing but trying to find some sites to write, sites that are reliable and pay bi-monthly or monthly, but am yet to get one. I have been writing articles here on Mylot for sharonbucks and never had one rejected, i recently just joined triond but got my first article rejected and i am not putting anything in again for some time because i find revenue sharing sites as not worth it. Articles i can really get $3 for ends up getting cents for page views, really don't support that and will have to let triond be for some time. I need to start off from some of those sites you said, which a friend have told me before so am trying to decide which will be easier for me. Thanks for the discussion started.

I never encounter about the posted sites for writers but the very legitimate site that I have joined that hires writers are the onlinejobs.ph which a friend and officemate of mine receive a payment already for the work done.

From what you have said above, I think you have a good knowledge of Freelance Writing. In fact, nowadays, I just join Allwriting.net and I am not familiar with other websites. Yes, through these websites, we can really make some extra money to meet our needs. But before you join such a site, you'd better be careful for there are many scams among all freelance writing websites. By the way, here, on myLot, there are some writing tasks available to us and you can have a try. Happy myLotting!
