Hey, where did that discussion go? Has anyone replied to a discussion entitled, "I made 23 new posts today" If my memory serves me right, it was started by Flagella. I don't know why it got deleted. I didn't find anything offensive about the post. But well, do you also jump to conclusions whenever you check and find that a discussion which you have participated in was deleted? I asked the admin once to delete my own discussion just because it was doubled. Some glitch happened and for some reason the discussion was saved twice. BUt there was nothing malicious about it, or offensive in nature. BUt I bet, most of those who checked and found that it was deleted wondered why it was phased out from existence. I bet most of them thought I did some sort of a crime for having posted such!

The quality on myLot is decreasing rapidly. Many users are repeating topics done over and over again. Many are not aware of the 'milestone guideline which is the violation in the one you mention. 'I made xxx posts', 'I made xxx cents', 'I made xxx whatever' does not make a quality discussion and does not last long. We can only discuss once about a milestone and then it becomes repetitive I have asked for a couple, three actually, to be deleted, one very recently, and they were all removed. We all make mistakes and learning from them makes them positive!

I thought you were giving me a sermon, mysD. Is this response for me? Well I saw your note above. I have hard time sorting through instructions sometimes. Hehehehe. So now I know the purpose why the disc was deleted. I guess I should hit the guidelines too from time to time. You know, just to check. I might end up making an innocent disc only to find that it has violated the rules.

Tha note up there is because I didn't realise Mr.Lamb was awake and I would have left out the first part of my response had I realised Yup the Guidelines serve a purpose. There are so many other things that we can discuss without infringing them one little bit

hello Theresaaiza, I think the main reason why the discussions are being deleted is because either it violated a lot of rules or simply it was kind similar with other topics. i made a few discussions this week and one of them got deleted because it was a violation for promoting stuff. but that's okay i can always make up for the loss. "I made 23 new posts today" - a milestone violation because i made one during my old account. i hope this user learned a lesson in reading the rules of mylot. have a great day

Hi LK, I am so sorry I didn't realize I skipped your response! Had I not dug back into my old unanswered discs, I never would have noticed. Really sorry.

hello Theresaaiza, sometimes, we all know that what we have posted is/are okey without /me/us knowing that i/we committed a violation. and because of this, we got hurt a beat if not much. i guess, if the admin was the one who did it and not by anybody else then they must have a valid reason as to why they did it. and experiencing such will serve us a lesson to us as the case maybe. but then, that is just one post. so the best thing that we can do is to try again to make us going and be able to meet our goal.

I agree, sometimes we unknowingly make innocent posts but end up making a violation instead. I don't feel so happy about hitting the terms and guidelines all the time myself although it's a must-read. Sometimes, instincts also dictate which posts seem ok and which seem not. Happy posting!

I've noticed more discussions that have seemingly disappeared, most of which were also not offensive. Then I see discussions that I think should be removed that stay forever. Go figure......

I can't imagine anyone actually reading all discussions and responses posted. That would be a formidable job. It's more likely that there is software that scans looking for specific words and word patterns, and discussions/responses containing any of these words are deleted. That would explain why some are deleted even though there isn't anything wrong with them. If these disc were actually read to see how these words were used in the context of the htoughts and ideas of the author, many of them would probably not be deleted.

I learned that milestone discs have greater chances of being deleted. BUt somehow the deleting of these discs sometimes depend on the myLot police (fellow users who catches the crooks and report it to the admin) I guess the admin in most cases depend on the users to report whatever is reportable. Shrugs. Nooooo solid idea actually.

Oh yeah, why didn't I think of that? I always find myself pointing fingers at other people and go calling them myLot police! hehe....perhaps due to too much watching of suspense thrillers!

It's because MyLot deletes any posts that is written either a) too harshley b) states a bold opinion, or c) allows people to think outside the box. They practically deleted half my posts and none of them were harsh. I guess everyone should stick to topics like, "why is the sky blue?", so that nobody needs to write a post that allows thinking outside the box.

Oh...well...I definitely couldn't think INSIDE a box! It's too tight, dark, and the smell of cardboard is kinda too choking for me. Well kidding aside, condolence to your lost posts april. I know it's terrible to have some of them deleted. Perhaps mylot did see violations in your posts. I guess we should learn from it then. There really is no choice but to follow the do's and dont's. If we want to stay here, I guess we must be responsible users too.

Milestone post. A lot of people know the answer to this one. Don't feel bad. I made one myself early in my career here and it got deleted. Live and learn.

That's fine, It wasn't my discussion anyway. But like I said above, I would have loved to read the exchanges of comments.

I think it is most like of a milestone. I hae posted similar discussion before and it was also deleted. That was my second violation ere in mylot. Discussing milestone. I learned my lesson and never posted something like that again.

I see. Good thing I never posted any milestone disc ever.

im not sure. my guess would be that the mods want "content" posts, not just announcements of how much posting youre doing, which isnt too meaningful. the only other explanation is a server error, but this site seems reliable.

I did figure from the answers of the people that "milestone" posts are considered violations. You are right about making content or quality posts. :D
