Auto insurance question.

I have State Farm auto insurance.Someone hit my car in the parking lot where I work.Of course,they took off without telling me.I've only had the policy a month.Will my rates go up?

wow never join any insurance, my suggestion is you should ask or find any advantages from your insurance, the best way is ask person who get lots of advantages from that insurance

Your rates should not go up. However, whether they will pay for the repair or not depends on what you have on your policy. If you only have liability insurance it won't pay any. If you have full coverage it should pay especially if you carry uninsured motorist. Either way your rates should not increase.

I don't know how this works in your country, but in mine the standard insurance covers only the damage caused by you, not the damage done to you by others. So it should have been the insurance of the person who caused the damage to pay you. Your rates should not go up, but i don't think you will get any money to repair the car unless your coverage is more than the basic. But as i stated before things might be quite different in different countries (i live in italy btw).
