October is breast cancer awareness month. My mom died of breast cancer in Oct. 11th of 2001, ironically. I have been receiving e-mails lately about cancer and been watching all these tv discussions and news about cancer. Cancer is a horrible disease. It's sad to wonder how many people should die before they could find a cure for cancer? Do you have anyone in your personal life who has cancer? Family or friend? If so what kind of cancer is it and how do you deal with the situation?

Hi Gicolet, I wish they could find a cure for all cancers. I've lost several people close to me because of this dreaded desease. It's a horrible feeling watching a loved one go through this knowing their time is limited and nothing will help.I'm sorry to hear about your mother I wish everyone to be cancer free.

hmm..interesting Topic, well my Father had Cancer on his right foot, it wasnt easy at first he could walk around, after a while it was just painful for him to walk, to the point where he was put on bed rest, for a while he started getting better, went to the Doctor was told he had cancer, i dont remember what kind it was, this took place 4 years ago, and he had to get part of the cancer Parts off his foot, so he lost 2 toes and a bit of his front part of his foot, then after that, things were ok, he sooon started to walk again, things were ok..but it started to come up his leg to the point where his skin was like having opened up holes so he was in pain, and he was then in a private hospital, he was taking pain medicine for the well..pain but he passed away due to Cardiac Arrest from too much of the pain medicine :( he passed away September 3 2006, its tought, but having family members supporting you is a really good thing, but i hate it also because he didnt watch me grow up i am 19 now he missed a part of my life and my siblings life, you know, you dont think about it till it happens, but yeah, he is in a better place, and things well..have to move on.

Sorry to hear about your father. I've never heard of cancer of the foot. You know i do believe that people who passed away still lingers on with their spirits so eventhough you regret that your father wasn't able to see or watch you grow up just think that he's around watching over you or just remember the good times you were together before. I hope that will make you feel better somehow. Take care.

I did. My grandmother passed away from cancer. She was one of those rare few, who got lung cancer, but never smoked. She passed in 1991. People in her work environment smoked. I am sure the cause was second hand. It was hard, just trying to make her comfortable. I moved in with her and my grandfather at the time. She and I were close. I miss her daily.

Thanks God, i dont have none who has cancer. I feel for you as you witnessed the sufferings of your mother. But, I have a different decoration. My only daughter, who is now only 13 yrs old is suffering from communication disorder. Few motors of her brain does not work properly, thats why she does not have the urge of talking. Every after 6 months we need to take her abroad for her treatment. Life is a peculiar place. None is at complete peace !!

Thank you. I'm sorry too about your relative having leukemia. Yes, it's really tough to deal with it. Mostly you have to be strong in front of them or rather fake it...I wasn't very good at it. My mom saw my anguish through me. I wish I was so much stronger for her but it was very tough.
