hi frndz,i go for shopping every 2 months with my friends and i really find it difficult to restrict myself from buying to a certain limit.normally i get out of my home with a certain amount tat i should shop for, after my shopping i really end up spending double the amount tat i planned to shop.even my parents complain me about spending too much money. i have even tried to take less amount so that i can keep a tab on my spendings.but to my surprise tat didnt work.coz i will be with my friends nd borrow some money from them nd return the money back the next day.do u have any solution for me so that i cut my expenses.

I had the same problem last year. I even used up my credit card limit and now I am trying to pay it off. Is very hard to stop the shopping habbit. It seem that we are born to shop till we drop. But now I always ask my self before I buy, if I really need that stuff or it is only for the sake of buying. and at the end of the day i end up not spending a cent. I never bring any credit card out and ask my friend not to lend any money. I am planning to save my money for trip to europe. so be brave and say No to spending.

take cash and only cash - and tell your friends that no matter what you say, not to loan you any money. I like to spend money too... and I do the same thing... BUT... go to outlet stores and shop clearance racks... then you get MORE for your money... and its WAY more fun to shop for bargains!!!

similar to controlling what you eat on a diet, you can also control you spending by doing similar things like keeping a journal and putting yourself on a specific schedule or budget. and follow through on a daily basis, keeping notes in your journal. monitor it from time to time to make sure that you are making progress. if you are not, see why, and change it. if you are making progress, reward yourself with a good movie, spa retreat, or just doing something fun that you dont always have time for.
