Hobby photos...Canon or Nikon?

Hey all you picture takers out there!I have a Canon Elph, and I have fallen in love with the color enhancement feature, that apparently comes with Canon cameras...I love that I can cut out all color except one or two in a picture...makes a sweet, and very memorable photograph! Here's an example of one I took with my kid...let me know what you think!
Aside from this, are there outstanding features on Nikon cameras that could sway me from buying a Canon EOS DLSR?

Interesting. I'm not sure it is appropriate for portrait photography it makes her leg all Green and blotchy. It is certainly an effect you should play around with though you might get some interesting photographs.
I do seem to like the Canon cameras though, for some reason they seem to have better features that I like and quality always seems good.
