Yesterday was the chinese holiday for the aged. I saw a TV program on How to remain easy while getting old. Some of the obsevations are really meaningful and touching for me. A famous musician saids, she feels happy when seeing her students making achievements. To remain happy, one should not depend on gaining more, but on complaining less. Another elite said, he keeps learning so that he can stay in touch with the younger generation. When learning new things, the old should not think of himself as junior instead of senior. What is your observation?

i am at my point in stepping into a mature age, it is sometimes hard to accept the fact specially if there were a lot of things you had missed out doing when you were young, what i do now is to try to think young and be young. I don't think of my age as a burden but as a gift i use this to help my younger friend with their way of life. as i do thing with younger people and i have always believe that their is this child inside my heart and i never contain her or restrict her in anything she wants, i will do things as i know i will be happy with i may seem childish to others but its not really. its just not their normal way but i do it cause i feel young about it. and i feel alive and free which is the best thing in life. age actually is just a number it is whats in your heart that is important.

Thanks for your responding. You are right as the saying goes, you are as old as you think of yourself. Enjoy the present, and waste no time to do what you would like.

I’m in my late 30s and stepping into that age bracket, which gradually leads to old age. Till now, I have had no problems in accepting the fact that I’m aging. For one, I have had to struggle a lot in my youth and only recently, I have found some stability in my life. I hope to keep this up and enjoy life a little better 10 years from now. I too want to do a lot of things which I could not in my youth and would like to learn some new things too! Mostly I think each age has its own ups and downs and life is actually a journey, not a destination…so the basic thing would be to enjoy the journey as we travel along.

Hi zhuhuifen, I think that it's important to continue learning and also to teach the young people about the old ways. Although there are many new and wonderful things, there is still much to be learned from past generations. Due to the new technology, many young people have forgotten the importance of patience and sometimes we are able to help them understand that there is a rhythm to nature, to the universe, and going with that flow brings a happy and healthier lifestyle. Blessings.

The progress of life will remain easy while getting old, including the happiness, gains, experience, smile etc, which is a wealth in one's life.

io think jus enjoying a project or jus spend an hour a day listening to soundscape ,and meditate is an easy way to ease up as young or old wouldnt matter really as long as u feel good everyday, every moment of your time.

zhuhuifen46, I feel that the older generation seems to be having a lot of problem with generation gap today. So, it is no surprise that the old are very much lonely when their children grow up and moves away or have nothing to do with their aged parents or parents in law. Although, I did not have the chance to watch this show, I think that it is timely for the aged population where they can be wary and encourage to relearn and adapt with the younger generations.
