Hi all, I like the vegetarian Food. It is not that I came from a Brahmin family but for the below reasons.. The first reason is I love animals. Low cholesterol food Efficient use of grains Plant food is fiber content As a vegetarian I contribute to water conservation My dear friends, u feel that these reasons are enough for all of us to convert into vegetarians.... what u feel?

I am a vegetarian by birth. I do not even eat egg or mushroom. People say mushroom is vegetable but I am not used to it. I see meat being sold in shops. That blood, flesh and all give some unwanted feeling for me. I do not say it is wrong to eat that. But I am not exposed to that that is the reason. Moreover the feeling that this flesh was once upon a time a living animal, to eat it, it was killed, makes me feel sad. If some giant did the same thing to us, then we would be hanging in his shop. But one fact we have to agree. When people are talking about food crisis, this meat contributes to food requirement. This is going on since ages. How can we say it is wrong? I am confused.

Firstly, welcome to MyLot! Secondly, I'm a vegetarian too, so, naturally, I love vegetarian food. There are definitely a lot of health benefits - but also a lot of benefits including reducing the number of animals killed per year (as demand for meat goes down, supply/production goes down - that's generally how the market works). I never knew that water conservation was something that we also contributed to. Care to explain? (I'm just curious!!). Anyway, it's good to hear of another vegetarian on MyLot.
