A mosquito killer or a mosquito net?

Are you comfortable sleeping inside a mosquito net or by using a mosquito killer (coil)? When you are going to sleep in an open area, which which would you prefer to use to avoid not being bitten by mosquitoes? For me, I feel so safely when I am inside a mosquito net but it is hot inside that would keep me sweating all over the night. So I prefer to use a mosquito killer when sleeping in a open area as long as the smell is not too strong and I prefer to use the scented coils.

Hi tontunan, well the coils definitely don't work and aren't nice to breathe, the candles which someone else mentioned don't work either. They don't work on enough of an area, so if the candle or coil is on the table you can guarantee they bite your ankles. The mosquito nets are a nuisance I find. The best method is without doubt Mosquito milk, a roll on repellant. They hardly get past that at all.

Hi tontunan, I'm not comfortable sleeping with mosquito net. I don't like inhaling mosquito coil either. Every afternoon my dad spray every corner of the house with mosquito spray and we have anti-mosquito plug-ins...it was like the other version of coil, it's just that, it doesn't make too much smoke and doesn't have toxic-like smell.

I really appreciate your comments. You have helped those people who are confused on what to use to drive away mosquitoes. Now I have learned that the best way to protect ourselves from mosquitoes while sleeping in an open area is to use the anti-mosquito lotions. Happy mylotting to all of you..^_^

i hate the task of putting the mosquito net in place but i think it always has an upper hand over mosquito coils.they sometimes don't work, they get me headaches many a times as i am allergic to them.plus u don't have to worry about mosquitoes for the whole night as most of the coils are functional for specific hours only.so no matter even if its hot inside i prefer net over coils...as i can't afford getting bitten by mosquitoes

Hello tontunan. I've already gotten used to sleep inside a mosquito net. Since I was small and up until now, my family are still using it because we think that it is one of the most effective ways to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. But we also used the coil one, especially during at night when we were in the main sala. Right now, we don't often used it; we just used it on an as needed basis only. God speed!

I have been sleeping inside a mosquito net all by my life. Since my childhood, I have never experienced waking up in the middle of night because something is whispering in my ears and something is bitten my skin. Although it is hot inside a mosquito net, I will still prefer using it in order to avoid having mosquito diseases which is rampant nowadays.

I would definitely go for a mosquito killer be cause it is very difficult for me to sleep in a net :P :P I usually light up an electric mosquito killer and now I have used to it. Early there was an awkward smell, but now it is fine with me. I usually change the brand of the killer so then can have different effects on it.

I don't like to use the coil, because personally to me, it makes me feel so itchy still. I use the repellent and the problem goes away easily. I think in warm conditions, like in my country, it's pretty hot, I don't find using the net or coil useful.. because it adds on to the heat and more smell. I buy those odorless repellent..

Hello tontunan this is checkmail and often do have to face the problems of mosquito during rainy and winter seasons. But mostly use an mosquito repelent or coil to free from mosquito's.Prefer to keep my sleeping place clean as they are attracted due to dirt and trees. There had been lot of case of malaria due to msquito bites, also of insomania. So have to take firm measure to controll mosquito attack.

I would prefer a mosquito net than a mosquito killer. Mosquito "coil" contains carcinogens that could prove fatal to our health. I would rather sweat endlessly for one night than sleep comfortable for one night (using mosquito coil)and spend my whole life suffering from cancer. If you can't take the heat inside the mosquito net, then don't use it either, why not use a repellant instead? lol

Mosquitos love me so much.If there're mosquitos flying around, the other people will not be bitten, but me.I won't choose neither mosquito net nor the killer. As you said, the net will keep us hot if we're not in the roo with air-conditioner.Also the killer smells too bad.I use some mosquito repellent water which is better than both mosquitos net and killer. How do you think?-:)

Maybe it is something psychological but I find it hard to breath inside a mosquito net. I don't like the smell of the smoke coils emit so I just use mosquito repellant lotions, they are effective in driving mosquitoes away. I've also tried using electronic repellants but they are not that effective.

for an open area i would prefer mosquito net. Mosquito coil is fine but considering that its an open area, a net has the advantage. And it would make me feel protected when im on a net. And i dont like the smoke that comes from mosquito coil.

if i am going to sleep in an open area, i would better apply an anti-mosquito lotion, or just a mosquito net because having a smoke from mosquito killer irritates me. i am just comfortable with mosquito net, but since our home has been screened, i just spray an anti-mosquito to get rid of that annoying vampire insects.

When previous technology is not as better than today, the good ole mosquito net was the main protection in my parents old house. It involves over the years with the introduction of the air conditioning units in the house wherein mosquito repellents is introduced. The mosquito nets were vanished in the closets of our home. We never use the coil one as we had a history of asthma problems. Therefore spraying and other means like lotions were used.
