Out of curiosity I started reading the vampire diaries. It's not bad. I think it is a lot better than twilight but I still prefer the vampire chronicles by Anne Rice. I have started to read the lost symbol written by Dan Brown. I have just read a few chapters and so far so good. What are your thoughts?

I am not so really into Anne Rice. I was able to read first her other books 'Exit to Eden' and 'Claiming of Sleeping Beauty' and it really waned me of all Anne Rice books. LOL! It's just not my cup tea. I prefer the books written by Sherrilyn Kenyon, the Dark-Hunter series.

I have heard about the Dark hunter series but I haven't had the chance to read them. What is it about?

A lot of its characters are from Greek mythology and most of its stories are rooted in Greek mythology. The story have vampires, werewolves, gods and goddesses and even the story of Atlantis. It is really very entertaining and good read. Every time i read the books, its like entering another world and it just carries me away.

After finishing the Twilight series... i decided not to read any vampire novels... because each author has his/her own version of what a vampire should be... so it can be a little confusing... i still like the conventional kind of vampire... i haven't read Dan Brown's ne book... but i am quite curious about the plot... so i might get a copy one of these days...

I also prefer the conventional kind of vampire. I don't like the idea that vampires could walk during the day. I haven't finish reading the lost symbol but the main character in the book (Robert Langdon) was in his first two books (Angels and demons and Da Vinci code) Thanks for the response

The only reason why I bought or borrowed Anne Rice novels on her vampire series is because I fell in love with Brad Pitt in "Interview with the Vampire". They're good books, but not enough to get me hooked. I am more into Stephen King novels. Am not a Dan Brown fan either since I heard that he did plagiarize his work from other authors.

Another vampire series that has more traditional vampires is "the southern vampire mysteries" by Charlaine Harris. The HBO show True Blood is based on these books.
