Hai everybody, Can anybody tell me why our govt is not taking any action on people who are cheating by sending mails like you have won some 1000 billion dollars through lottery or from the death of some person. I get so many mails of this kind. Can anybody atleast tell the way how u can assist the govt in catching such criminals who are playing with the lives of innocent people. Is there any website to file a complaint or is there any website which tells us about a website whether it is a fraud website or good site. I paid around 1000/- to www.365jobs4u.com, and it is a fraud website. I have their account no with me, can't i file a case on them. V. Prasanth Kumar http://sysusertips.blogspot.com

I get junk like that all the time alot I just delete and some cannot even spell, then some email back and put them to shame or lead them to a scare front ..mostly they are taking up their own time..I do not know right off hand where you can complain but if you find out let me know. oh I did get mail from one that sent something as an address and I just turned them in to an account site who they tried to claim they where with and their e-mail.. not sure what happened to them but sooner or later they get caught.. their ip address shows in the headings of their e-mails they send and usually can tell the country and internet service they are with and report them that way..it can be a serious matter and falsely crimes they create.

They are taking action bit you have to realize it's hard to catch them when they are in places like Nigeria.

Well, it has to depend where is the perpetrator is staying. If the person is in the same country as you, most likely your local authority can classify the case as Cheating as per the law. However, if the person is from other countries and you have wired the money to them on your on accord, chances are there is no offense due to jurisdiction constraint. You may want to trace the owner of the site and proceed to the country where the person commit the offense to file a report. And then it will be dependable on local legislation as well. I do not know whether is there a global Internet watch dog enforcing on criminal offence such as cheating or forgery for the purpose of cheating. Anyone can shed light? I do not think there is such global jurisdiction given to anybody as far as I know. When something is too good to be true, it probably is. Caveat Emptor. cheers.

cyber crime is a global phenomenon and local authorities find it difficult to chase such international cases. also generally fraud amounts are not substantial and therefore get ignored. lack of specific laws are also a hurdle. however major crimes are investigated and results achieved. in India the Mumbai police has taken initiative and is making considerable efforts in this regard. you may also update on latest information from their site. it is - www.cybercellmumbai.com

dear prasant i appreciate for your action to protect innocent ones but it will a difficult task. Before you take any action i advice you to know your enemy well.If he as more power than you it will be only waste of time and money. If you don't know about your enemy(details of in charge of website) and complain to police-I will sure that there will be progress in case though you with out investing money.Since there are human being-all ways look for easy works. If you give your enemy name and address, may be there will be a investigation. If the enemy is having more power or beyon your reach then forget.

actually normal peoples like me ant you don't want to take the risk to involve and boring and lengthy jurisdiction process. no one have time to visit again and again in the search of justice. anyways if you want then you can loge a complaint with cyber crime branch for this. but i think this is not an easy task to get justice. and Scammers are taking the advantage of this slow and boring jurisdiction process.
