A friend just contacted me and told me that she can not log into MyLot. Some of you might know her, DanielleA. She could log in earlier but right now she can not. What can she do now? Has anyone had troubles before with this? I am asking you because obviously she can not so I am helping her out. Any ideas of what is going on? Thank you for ALL answers! -AidanKay.

Her profile appears to be normal, so she evidently hasn't been banned. Possiblities are: 1) The DNS (Domain Name Server) that she uses (usually supplied by one's ISP) may be having a problem. In case you don't know what this is, it is the service that translates a URL into the appropriate IP address. One solution might be to use another DNS. A very good free one is OpenDNS and full instructions for setting it up are on the website: http://www.opendns.com/ 2) Forgotten or mistyped passwords are not unknown, even though the person hotly denies it! I should know, having been an IT Support person for many years! 3) Something as simple as having the Caps Lock on without realising it is very often the source of the problem!

MyLot is still messing about with hyperlinks. The correct link (without the characters added at the end) is: http://www.opendns.com/

Thank you so very much for helping us out there. I know what you mean about the user name and password, I told her that as well but her user name and password are saved on that page so she doesn't even type anything for it is already all there. Anyways, turns out that it is all working again now so either way, thank you for your time and effort for helping. Really appreciate it and so does she. Thanks! Have a great day. -AidanKay.

I'm glad it worked out. I seem to remember having just such a problem with MyLot in the past and I occasionally get it with Facebook and one or two others as well. I have never fully understood why it happens but (for whatever reason) it seems to be the site saying "Sorry, I didn't hear you!" It's actually quite unlikely to be the DNS (if that wasn't working properly, you wouldn't even get to the login screen!) but it CAN be something to do with a problem with one's own cache. Clearing the browser's cache often works wonders but, if your browser stores passwords, be careful not to clear those!
