Do you leave your pimples alone or do you try and squeeze them?

When I was young I never left my peimles alone! Sometimes my sister would see a pimple that full of puss and squeeze it for me! As I have gotten older I do leave most of my pimples alone. If they become yellow and full of puss I will pop them. If not I ususally leave them alone! That doesn't always mean I do! Anyway I'm sure I'm not alone!

Hi bluespacker, no matter how much you're tempted you should leave them alone as they'll look worse afterwards. If you're still prone to them now you need to look at cutting a few things out of your diet and try not to keep touching your face. Also check that any makeup you use is not past its best. Drink plenty of water and get fresh air on them.

i think you are correct - after your teens it is usually diet or illness that causes spots, or pimples. lots of fruit and veg will help.

Diet is not the problem! Doctor's have studied pimples and they know food has nothing to do with getting pimples! I also don't use make-up.

I wonder then if this is another of those English/American word differences then, in British English a pimple is a spot yet I notice you added this in the acne interest, so maybe in American English a pimple refers to acne, which if it does I don't know anything about, but an English pimple/spot, is definitely caused by bad diet. We've been having these differences all week with hood/ladder/trunk etc.

ick bluepacker. . well i haven't actually had any proper pimples since i was 15 (the odd little spot that's all, and those i think you get all your life) but i suppose leaving them alone is a good idea if you do because otherwise you can cause scarring. i've seen some men who had bad teenage acne and sometimes they look as if they had recovered from something serious because of all the scars.

My all time favourite actor, the wonderful James Woods, has a bit of scarring like that. I'm sure they tone it down a bit for the cameras with make up, he's still georgous anyway but I think it probably dates back to his teens.

Lol this is a good discussion for my wife, and I do tend to have a lot of acne because I do not wash my face like I should or use my zit medicine like I should and I have never been one to pop my zits,I will leave them be,but if my wife sees I have a zit she has to pop it,it is like an addiction and I have to hide my zits to keep her from trying to pop them especially since some of them hurt like crazy when she tries, and she has promised she will try and work on her addiction, and not pop my zits as much, and I hope she does because it is annoying sometimes that I will be trying to do something and she will have to try and pop one of my zits,or I will come home from work and she will have to try and pop one.

I do need to wash my face more, and I have not heard anything about toothpaste but I drink a lot of water, since I work a lot and when I am at work I am always sweating from pushing the carts, and I always wash my face whenever I take a shower.

Maybe trying to take care of your face! then your wife wouldn't have the opportunity to pop you zits!

You tell Amber to leave them alone as it will make them worse and you'll probably end up with scars. Put some toothpaste on them after you've washed your face, and drink plenty of water.

Bluepacket - I was reading up about home remedies for things like this and amazingly it says that putting slice tomatoes on them makes the scars heal faster, something to do with the astringency in them. Also toothpaste on a pimple before sleeping will dry it out. Change your pillow regualary too, and don't touch them.

pimples no... white and blackheads yes.. pimples cause infections, blackheads and whiteheads not. so i squeeze it out. or do facial service.

Actually, pimples should be left alone but due to force of habit, I sometimes (or should I say often times) squeeze them. As a result, my face reddens and sometimes leaves a scar which I will always regret. I need to change my habit soon.

That has been a problem of mine since I was a kid. It is a bad habit and it is hard to break! I know how you feel! It isn't eay to break old habits!
