Do you think young teens should be able to make money online?

I was discussing this with my friend earlier today. Personally, as long as it doesn't interfere with a teenager's life, I don't see anything wrong with earning a little extra money online. In fact, I think it could be a good opportunity for some extra allowance. Of course, parents should set boundaries and limits but as a whole, I think PTCs and surveys for teens are alright. There have also been stories of young teens making a lot of money on the internet through their ideas. Some are in fact millionaires now because of their success. So, what do you think about this subject matter? Should young teens be able to make money online?

of course, that is good for young teens to make money by online.Through the internet earning the young teens can put their ideas into action, sometime the earning can activate the young teens imaging ability. But some young teen have the haker knowledge,if they use the knowledge to make money,it will not only do harm to the internet but also to themselves.

I think teenagers should be allowed to make money online, afterall some of thier peers do work offline, the only thing I think that should be a factor is age. The person has to be thirteen years and older.

If I had a teen, I would encourage him/her to make money online or at least find ways. I think there are a lot of legit ways to earn money online as a teen and if he/she could get a good grip of it, it would definitely pay better than flipping burgers which is what most young teens get into when they first start. Age is another factor, yes, I agree.

I think there is no problem with that. Many young people are starting to be involve in business and this usually give them the opportunity to earn. This also includes earning money online. So there is really no reason why they should try it out and do what others are doing. But they also have to consider their priorities.

Hello rgo0205, i totally agree with you. As long as they are under parental guidance of the website, and with evidence of legitimacy, i believe teenagers should be able to make money online. This could possibly teach them a thing or two about money as they get older.

Thanks a lot for the response! I know I would've signed up for a lot of things had I known about all these opportunities when I was a teen :-) Cheers.

There are some sites where teenagers are able to earn money online. I would certainly have signed up when I was a teen. It would certainly be more fun and the earning potential could be a bit more than a paper round.

yes as long as they are not doing anything illegal with it, in the United States we have a few stock market geniuses, who weren't even 18, and had already made enough to pay for their whole college.

Exactly, as long as they're not doing anything illegal with it. I was thinking about this because in Hong Kong, I read about a story of a young man, aged 14 who started making money online. By 16, he became a top selling author on Amazon.com and earned a good amount of money through affiliate marketing. I think that's amazing.

I totally agree with you, young teens should be able to make money online. As the matter of fact, I started earning money online (or perhaps it's more accurate to say 'attempting earning money online') 3 years ago when I was 15.

Hi! I think if it doesn't intefere with schoolwork, that teenagers should be able to make some extra money online. But one thing all parents need to remember other than the online safety issues, is that most of the time even if it is a teenager and they make a certain amount of money in a year taxes have to be paid. I think it would be great for teenagers to be able to make themselves a little extra from working online.

I look at it like what is the laws where they are living. Theres laws where i live that a teen cant get a work permit till they are 14 so really they shouldnt be doing any work until that age.

I don't think it would be a problem. But like you said as long as it doesnt interfere with their lives. Like school, and stuff like that, why not?

As long as I can pass my exams with good marks, i don't find any harm in trying to make money online. But the only disadvantage i could find is that I spent a lot of time with internet because of this but I could control it if I want, so there's no problem with that too.. So in my opinion, its good to earn some extra bux online as long as it doesn't affect your studies or you get addicted to it.

Yes, I think there's nothing wrong with a young teen earning their own money online...as long as the website content is suitable for young teens, of course. I think that teens should be earning money on their own, instead of relying on Mom and Dad to give them fifty bucks whenever they ask for it. It's good for teens to learn about responsibility and managing their money, because when they move out and get their own homes, they're gonna have to deal with paying rent and other bills, etc.

Hello rg0205 this is checkmail and often do notice that most of the crowd thats earning over here at online are the age group of teenagers and elders, and do think that the middle-stable generation is suffering hardluck in earnings online. So think that instead of thinking of only young teen we must think of everybody who is in online community.Even the sharing nature must be increased keeping selfishness at low, so that every body could be abe to earn online, and depend less on scarce resources for it.

ofcourse it is good for teens to make money..many teenagers dont seem to understand the value of money because it comes directly from their parents' pockets..but once they make their own they kinda know how valuable and what kind of a hard work they had to go through to make it..and this makes them very cautious about money spending

I don't suggest that young teens earning money online. It's because they have to concentrate on their studies. When they earn their first ''penny'', they will adicted to it and can't concentrate on books and lessons.

yeah no doubt, kid and teens need to do something positive like that, keep them off the streets and from getting in trouble, any kind of hobbie really,if they want to make money, they should be able too, well not kids for making money but teens should be able too but kids and teens should do something productive and expand their mind, and stop listening to rap music nowadays, pop some KRS-ONE,he delivers power messages for kids.
