I know we are all proud of our children for many different reasons however I am just wanting to share with you what my daughter just did before...my daughter will be 3 on April 26 so she's not of school age yet anyway, she had some of her shape toys out & showed me which one was the triangle & got it right!! i am so proud of her!!! I think I have Telly from Sesame Street to thank for that Have your children done anything spontaneous like that?

Well done you your young daughter. She is less than three years old and she is beginning to show shapes. She will be able to recognize rectangles, squares as well as triangles. Yes, some programs for children can be very educational. I am so pleased that you daughter is enjoying learning new knowledge.

I would be proud of your daughter too if she were mine. My son just turned three last month and we were at a playdate a few days after his birthday, we were decorating paper pumpkins, and while he was picking out things to glue to his pumpkin, I was asking him which shape the different objects were. He could name off triangle, circle, and square. The other mothers were impressed with him. There children are two and three months younger than my son. I attribute a lot of the reason that my son is progressing so well to the fact that I try to work with him on a daily basis. Also, his father's side of the family is very artistic as well, so he also has that going for him.

WOW!! that is clever for his age!! My daughter also learns this sort of stuff at gymnastics as they involve colors & shapes into their warm up games

I don't have kids but I would be proud to see my child progressing and learning if I did have one. I used to like Sesame Street as a child. I don't know whether much of my learning came from it but I did learn a few things there like counting and such.
