On Trial - Court Room Judge
United States
November 12, 2009 6:06am CST
Hello mylotters. Well today is a big day for me and my son. As some of you may know that my oldest son has been in jail for several months now. He had gotten mixed up with the drugs and was arrested for his actions with the drugs. While he was jail another charge came thru about an drug action that took place back in 2007. A person had worn a wire on him when he sold her drugs. The case has been going on now for months and today is the big day. So he has been transported from his current jail to my county for trial today. Im nervous over what could happen this morning. He could be facing 7 years jail time. I just wanted to share and get some thoughts from my friends here on mylot. Thanks for your responses.

Rosepedal, I remember you talking about this but don't remember your feelings on this. The only thing I can say is that I hope whatever happens, it's something that you would prefer to happen! Good Luck!

It sure sounds like a catch 22! It's sad when it's not always up to the mother or family, when it's up to the goverment!

It's really too bad that he got mixed up in that stuff...it can wreck a life so fast. Hopefully, regardless of the outcome, he will learn his lesson and leave them alone. ~~I AM WHO I AM~~ **STANDING STRONG IN MY BELIEFS**

Oh twoey He has learned his lesson. He also sees what he has lost in his past life. It has made him a better man by learning all of this and going thru that program. Now he just has to pay for his bad habits behind bars. Thanks for sharing and have a nice weekend. Keep Smiling.

I hope that everything will turn out fine for you and your son. Tell us how it goes, yeah. You are such a good mom, and your son is very lucky to have you. I know what you must be feeling right now. Could that sentence be further down, for instance? Like a letter of appeal or something..?

My best wishes go to you and hope your son can be sorted out and live a normal life. There is nothing worse than seeing your child in trouble. Most of them are led into bad ways and get caught up with all sorts of trouble. It is such a shame when they come from good families where they have been raised properly,It is every mothers nightmare their child will be led down the path of trouble.my heart goes out to you and hope your son learns his lesson to stay away from trouble and live a good life after all this has finished.

I ask him every week, if he is done with that kind of life. He answers me with a big YES..I have even talked to the head guy over the program to get his thoughts on sons life after jail. He has said that he can do it out there now. Im so proud of my son not giving up and now he has to face these other charges. It is very scaring for me in this time. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend. Keep Smiling.

Please know that I am with you on this day! So many judge those who are in prison, as being horrible people. They tend to forget that society, friends, and and their own individual character can sometimes influence a person to make a bad choice in life. We don't really know what was in the hearts and minds of these people that make them do what they do, to end up there. There are multiple reasons. You can raise 12 kids the same way, where 10 of them succeed rather well, while one or two could take the wrong road. It saddens me that the parents are often to blame for their child's actions. I was in prison ministry at one time, and I also visited my cousin who spent multiple times in jail, and from what I saw opened my eyes to the kinds of people in there. They are often just like you and me, who have made a wrong choice in life. Know that my thoughts are with you and your son, and know that whatever happens, it's for a reason. Pray that God watches over him.

Yes, the courts play games all the time...they never settle it the first time...there is always extensions. But sometimes it ends up to be a good delay. Hopefully this will be for your son also.

hi rosepedal64 no matter what he did, he is in rehab now, and any way he is your son, that is something nobody can take away, I know this must be really hard on you and your son too, I can hope that if he goes get 7 years, that he can get out on good behavior in much less time. Would it help if we sent prayers for you and your son that his jail time might be less.I will send mine for you and your son both, maybe others will join me. being in rehab should help him a lot too. You sound like a very devoted mom and I hope things will get better and better for you and yours too.

Hi Rose! I know that no matter what I say it wont ease your feelings. I just hope that your son learned from his mistake so that if the court would give him a chance he will correct all the wrong things that he had done.

Hi rosepedal. I guess it may be hard for your family but, no matter what it will happen on the trial, your unconditional love is all your son needs. But keep the hope! If he really understood his mistake,,, you know, sometimes miracles are happening... I strongly believe in the power of the second chance.

im very sorry to hear about your son, i know how you feel my dad was just put in jail but for difrent reasons! it is very scary and hard too deal with! but even though it is hard, think of it in the best way as you can, all things happen for a reason and maybe him being in jail will do him good for he will be able to think about his actions and lern from his bad desisions,in a clear state of mind....because when you are out on the street you have no time or no clear mind to think about the harsh consoquences you will face and think about is it realy worth it. im sure what ever happens will be for the best.

Im trying to look at it as the best. It is just really hard to do that. He has already spent so much time in there. He has been there for 17 months. Now I have to think about this over the weekend. The judge needs to check out some things and now he has to go back on Monday. Thanks for sharing and have a great day. Keep Smiling.

I'm sorry for you, you should really be disappointed with your son, that'd leave me really down. All the time and money and LOVE you spend to raise them, to educate them...and they end up in jail!! I'm really sorry for you.
