I would never text while i an driving as it can cause an accident as well as it is breaking the law where i live and i do not want to pay a heavy fine.I do still see people texting as well as talking on their phones as they are driving.

I'm thinking whether it is a law will prohibit to make a texting when driving, because it's dangerous to phone or make a text.

If you know what you're doing, and look at the road every two letters or only do it at red lights it is fine. Some people cant text and do normal tasks. If you're an advanced cell phone user I'd suggest it, if not then keep it to when you stop or pull over. If you feel comfortable doing it make sure your paying attention when you're easing up to a red light and wait until you have stopped.

Text messaging while you are driving is a big hazard. In our area, just this year, they passed a new law that you can not text or talk on a cell phone while you are in a school zone. The only exception is if you are using a hands free device. In other words, if you have the blue tooth head set, then you can talk on your cell phone. Or if you put your cell phone on speaker mode, then that is ok as well. I'm not sure why, I guess they consider these features to be no different than if you are talking to someone who is in the vehicle with you. Do you think that they will ever outlaw reading a newspaper or book, putting on makeup, or shaving while you are driving? LOL

Yup, definitely very dangerous, in just a blink of an eye you'll get yourself on an accident, simple glancing of other things on the road would get you killed especially if your driving about 60kph. I remember there was a time in Manila, capital of Philippines, which they prohibited banners or billboards that attract the drivers attention like sexy ladies or other similar from that, because the probability of getting an accident is much higher. . I remember I saw something at a back of a car, a message I think, it says "Drive safely, someones waiting for you." sweet!

bettydeng5 using cellphones while driving is usually the common causes of road accidents. The driver must pay attention on the road not on typing the text messages.

It is incredibly dangerous. It is illegal to use a phone whilst driving in the UK now, except if you have a hands-free set up.

It is offcourse dangerous. It simply detracts you and as texting needs concentration, so you loose attention from driving. Thank you.

Hi, I have to agree with all of you, buddies. I have tried to just read an SMS few times while driving - although in moderate traffic, it didn't feel good at all. I won't even try to do that on highway, not to mention writing a message. This is the way to cemetery...

Yes. I strongly agree on texting while driving could cause tragic accidents. Even the law reprimands people from texting while driving, they seem to like to violate, that's why they are caught up in accidents, they can't blame anyone.
