I am also having the same problem. That time i shutdown the system & restart for after sometime it will works.

First question is are you using wireless internet connection or USB connection or dial up type of connection?
There are various reasons that thing happened and the common three (3) are your internet modem is not responding very well or the connection is very slow or that site web server is not responding. You can check it out at http://www.speedtest.net/ and on that page its reading for Downloading must above 0.40Mb/s and Uploading must above 0.25Mb/s. If you found it's all in good speed connection, do the instruction given on this blog page because I do not know which web browser you are using;

it is almost 12 hours that my site is down and i can only get to my page when i use opera turbo. but if i'll try to upload files using ftp, it always says that it cannot connect to server. i changed my dns server to opendns and i even changed my firewall settings, but nothing happened. :(
all my friends can view my site, so i think it is only me who cannot. :(
