why does he say he is not ready for a relationship?

the situation is, girl is 20 and boy is 24, she is only dating him and he says he is only dating me, but why does he says he is not ready for a relationship ? actually what is the term of a relationship?it makes people confused

Maybe what he meant was that he's not ready to get serious or give commitments. He doesn't want to be hurried into marriage. He still wants to date you but don't expect too much from him. Why don't you ask him what he meant, and when is the right time for him to "be ready ?"

to me its a cough out. as man if he's dating only you (are suppose) he's in a relationship. some guys are just dumb
