My younger brother have a dog and sometimes she yell at him just to do the things my brother asked and it works. There are those times that I yell to my cute kitten because of certain behaviors that they showed which I don't like. I felt sorry for them sometimes. Do you yell at your pet? Does it help you?

It depends on the situation. Usually speaking to them in a calm but firm tone works. If they are in immediate danger, though, like someone is pulling into the driveway and they are in the middle of the driveway, then I will yell. This tells them that there is something serious happening, and they need to listen right away. The only other time that I usually yell is when I am calling them, because I don't know where they are and I want to make sure they can hear me if they are at the other end of the house.

Yes, I yell at my pets.. my dogs and my cats.. too.. sometimes you have to. sometimes they choose not to listen to me anyway. But if i hear some cats fighting in the other room _ I Yell - hey, Knock it off.. and they usually stop. Unfortunately when I yell at my dogs to stop barking- they usually don't. :( But, sometimes if I ask them nice to come in the house- they just sit there and look at me. But if I raise my voice and yell at them. then they know that I am serious and they come in without hesitation.. usually. :) there are always exceptions. They all know that I love them even if I yell at them.

hi careguarden! animal has powerful senses so when you yell at them they easily get frighten and they can sense if the are in danger or trouble by the sound of our voice so i always make sure i won't raise my voice with my two dogs, when they really get on my nerve, i'll just called there name and talk to them and show to them what they done..
