Do you share your food with friends?

Hi friends.. When I was still studying.. me and my friends use to share our lunch boxes among our group.. It was really nice that time.. we had a group of five friends used to sit together for lunch..we used to share the food among us.. But once I got a job it was too strange for me.. Though we all go for lunch together.. and sit and have our food.. no one will share.. there is no friendly environment now.. How about you? have you ever shared your food with friends? Do you still continue doing it?

Dear chaitra , I am working in a research institute and our staff is very friendly. We lunch together in a garden of our office and we share with each other. Our lunch is the best time in the day. We go out for lunch together and it is fun time for us. Nice discussion started.

Some of the time, I suppose. But with my family members, I do share my food. We will go out to a restaurant and order different dishes. Then we will apportion a little of this and a little of that on each of our plates and then tuck it in. Yes, I have also shared food with friends. When I go tot he fast food joints like Kentucky Fried Chicken, I will always have one piece of chicken and a coleslaw and I give my friends the rest. Yes, I also share my french fries!

hello chaitra! you just remind me of my friends when i was in elementary school...we also bring our own food to school and share our lunch together, and we all share on whatever foods we have...that was really fun and happy experience in my school years... when i am already working, well i am lucky to have a good friends from work that whenever we eat together for lunch, we still share the foods that we have, actually there are sometimes that even our boss shares with us...and most of the time she's the one who have lots of foods! and now, ell i am no longer working but still when there's a chance, i still share my foods to my friends...coz i want them to taste the food that i cook and i intentionally bring additional foods to share... good day!

Food sharing with friends, neighbours and even with family gave me a lot of joy. Anytime I made a new dish I always hoped someone would drop in. But food is no longer an item these days that sharing it would give that much joy that we had in yesteryears. This has a background inasmuch as we no longer long for human company as we used to in the good old days and with it went everything else that added zest to these contacts.

Hi Chaitra, We also had fun at lunch time and ate together and shared with others when we were students. I think it is a common practice among students. The study time is the best time for us and we never get it back that time once it is over. I don't understand your colleagues are eating together and act strangely. Earlier I used to share my food with my colleagues who sit with me for lunch. Now all those people left and still their posts are vacant. Other staffs, they may not be in office or not taking lunch when I used to take. I miss my old colleagues really. But they do visit me and when comes they always make a point to come at lunch time and share food with me.

It is a nice thing to do, to share your treats with your friends. I never did that at school because we were not allowed and I’ve noticed that at my eight year old daughter’s school it is not permitted either due to the fact that there are some kids who have sever allergies and it could be fatal for them to eat the wrong food so, sadly there is a very good reason why the children can’t share their lunchboxes. I can’t say I have ever seen anyone do it when I started work either.

Hi paula.. This might be good reason.. but in our school days there was no such restrictions.. We really enjoyed a lot..

Hi chaitra001 Since junior high school until now (now I'm in college) I always share food with friends and it's nice! We share food and can taste various food even if each of us only bring one or two type of food, with sharing we can get until 5 types of food Really? Why? Why there's no sharing food anymore in the office/job? and how can there's no friendly environment? Don't you work together with your friend? Or there's no sharing because no one start it? Oh, I never imagine that I will lost the sharing food and chit-chat time during break time, Chaitra..

Hi chaitra We do share our lunch during our school and office going days and I enjoyed it very well. Now I am a housewife and no chance of sharing my lunch. But I will share my goodies with my friends and neighbours during the festivals and any other occassions like house warming and thread ceremonies

What is interesting is that when I eat out with my friends we do share our food, but usually don't when we eat in student canteen. What is even more interesting is that I seldom shae food with my families because in my hometown we never have our dinner sitting around a table, we just hold our own bowl eatin gour own food instead. Does it sound strange?

Hi Friend.. yes it sounds strange to me.. In our family we all sit together and have food.. Though if we not sit around table we make sure to sit together and have food without the interruption of TV..

Ha Ha! It is just our custom. Usually we eat our food in our yard rather than inside our room as long as it is not very cold outside. Even more interesting, in summer days we even go to street to have our meal while talking with a bunch of neighbors! I have never found any people in other districts who do the same thing as us, I really think it is a unipque coustom!

Hi Chaitra! I could see the discussion today only. Quite an interesting discussion. Like you when we were in our school and college, we would share out lunch during lunch hour. When I joined service, I joined a group to relish my lunch. I do not feel like taking my lunch alone. Even now for the past many years we have a well defined group of four of our friends and we take lunch together and we even wait for each other to join. We get to taste difference varieties of dishes, salads, fruits and sweets which each or anyone of us bring along with him. If any day others in my group remain absent I do not feel like taking lunch.

in the place we are in now, we get closer with the neighbors and make more friendly with among us. one thing made us closer is sharing foods. when we have more food prepared, we give them to our neighbors. sometimes, they also do that with other neighbors. also, in occasions like birthdays, even if we don't invite them to eat with us in the house, we share them what we have prepared. i never experience food sharing with my co-workers. i know, some of them eat together during lunch. they eat by groups, so i think they share food with each other. i said, i never experience, since i usually go home for lunch. but there are times, when someone celebrates birthday or someone is thankful for what he receives of something unexpected, they treat the people in the office. sometimes lunch, sometimes snacks in the afternoon.

I used to share my food with friends when I was in college. I never shared food in school even though I had good friends. I was a part of a gang of people in my college both for my bachelor's degree and master's degree. I enjoyed sharing food. I got chance to taste various food items which my Mom will never prepare. Now, I am working and even now I share food with the colleagues I dine with.

What a unique idea! I've never seen this. I'm not sure I'd have anything that anyone would want. I'm in the habit of packing for only me. I know kids do this at school... wonder at what age we decided to keep it all for ourselves? hmm ... now you've got me thinking....

hi,chaitra! It's so sweet to share food with friends. I would like to share my snacks with my friends.enjoying snacks together is more yammy than eating them by myself. I share my snacks with my colleagues too.but it's just totally different.I mean,it's very hard to make real friends with colleagues for one, even if they are seemingly friendly and kind to each other.sometimes I believe it's impossible.I don't know whether if you can make out what I am talking about. OK.have a nice day!
