When my grandmother was growing up chicken feet were her favorit piece of the chicken. She was born in 1908. so you can see how long ago that was. I came to South Carpolina from Nebraska in 1990 and I was surprised to see chicken feet in the grocery store. So I would say they are safe to eat. They don't look like there would be much on them to have many calories. The calories would be in the coating
