How do you live in the moment not in the past or in the future?

I find my mind dwelling in the past specially if someone makes me mad. I try to control my thoughts but they creep up on me before I realize it then I'm mad again. Then I constantly worry about my future. Things like what am I going to do when I get old. Or Ill worry and rehearse what I am going to say to someone. Alot of times I can't sleep because of all these negative thoughts. I want to be one of these people who seem like they haven't a care in the world. Any suggestions?

I want to be one of them too! The only way I've discovered through my studies is that it takes some practice. One must practice being in the moment, every second, and that takes some amount of work. Focusing on what is happening at every moment and not making any assumptions about what will happen next. Wow.

Wow it does take practice and lots of work. I hate it because I keep relapsing. Before I realize it I drift out of the present it just makes me so mad I have no control over my thoughts. Great response bye the way!

I try to live in the moment, but my past keeps coming back to haunt me, and that makes it hard to try to do anything to plan for my future...
