I also had trouble getting in the mood to study. Often times I just prop my book up but think about something else or just gaze out of the window. Like musicman6 said, I found out that it gets easier to study when u make it a habit. You should make up some kind of schedule to get yourself accustomed to concentrating on studying. I had this same problem and I hope I've helped you.

Yes, when I was going to college, I had trouble, because I had to 'force' myself to get in the mood to study, because if I didn't , I couldn't concentrate! And I am the same way with playing chess, I have to concentrate really hard, and I cannot have any thing else on my mind! I did discover, that once you get in the habit of doing this, it's not as hard, when you need to study! I got used to it!

it is easy for me to concentrate on my studies because whenever I open the books I could feel the happy feelings from the bottom of my heart. Books lead me into a brand new world in which I could see miracles of the beautiful world. The contents in books will never be boring if you are really interested in them. There is a Chinese saying gose that you could find a golden house in books, which means knowledge in books may give you opportunities to make fortune. It is true. So make full ues of time to enjoy happiness brought by book ,you can find your own golden house.
