Did anyone get mixed into the madness of Opening Night of New Moon?

Our entire family went to the 10:30 p.m. show and it was a zoo! Ran into so many people that I knew (friends, current students, former fellow employees ! My husband said we were crazy, this is while we were standing in line. He changed his tune once we got our seats. I swear it wasn't like this last year. There were even guys dressed up in the red robes from the Italy scene at the theater. At first I thought they might have been placed there by Summit Entertainment but no they were going to see the film. Some of the teachers I work with were going right after school, two of them are waddling around with their babies waiting to be born. It was a great movie. I really like the new director and his work! Saw some awesome previews, even one with Rob P. - will go see that one for sure.

These movies aren't really my cup of tea, but I know that there were a lot of people around this area who went to see it at midnight on opening night. We are in a small town of about 8000 people and our local cinema sold out 6 theaters within the cinema to watch this movie. Each one of the theaters holds between 200 and 400 people, so there were a LOT of people there watching that movie. They even had to turn away even more people because they didn't have another theater to open. My wife and I went to the movies last night to see "2012" but we talked to some friends who were also there that "New Moon" was sold out again and they had actually cancelled showings of other movies so they could show "New Moon" on more screens! It's insane! It is going to be very interesting to see how much the movie makes in the box office over the entire weekend. No doubt it will be number 1.

I know on opening nite the cinema has 14 screens and they were showing it at 7 of them. Last nite I think they were down to three screens. How was 2012? I would like to see that Think I will wait until it comes out to Redbox. Yes, I am anxious to see the $$ figures for the weekend. Thanks for the response.

Thanks! I will definitely watch it when it comes out to Redbox, unless I can win some movie tickets! Thanks again!

I had heard mixed reviews of 2012 from friends who had gone to see it and was honestly skeptical, but still really wanted to see it. It was definitely an interesting movie and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I didn't even realize how long the movie was until after it was over because I was so into it (it has a run time of 2 hour and 38 minutes). My wife loved the movie as well (which I wasn't expecting!). I think this movie was even better than previous movies written by the same person (Rowland Emmerich). He also wrote "The Day After Tomorrow", "10,000 B.C.", "Independence Day", and "Eye of the Storm".

Not yet. I have a baby who will only be a year old next month. So being at a theater at that hour won't happen. But my nephew wants to see it this weekend. So I will be going tomorrow. Which I still think is too soon. But a promise is a promise.

Oh I hear you, I am so glad my girls are older. At least you are going to be able to see it - I don't think I could wait for it to come out on DVD! Thanks for the response.

as i saw yesterday, may even adults who just heard of new moon and the twilight saga, went and watched the movie. It was funny that the clue less adults were the only one laughing and the teens were utterly speechless from every scene. Two cultures met during the new moon premiere. It was ecstatic.

We didn't experience that type of reaction in the theater. We had more excitement when Jacob and then Edward took off their shirts. I was sitting next to my husband and he couldn't believe that I would scream like I did. I noticed many times I was sliding up in my seat anxiously waiting to see what was going to happen next. Thanks for the response.

I'm not surprised. Usually movies that get so much hype before it comes out, or especially if it's a sequel to an already popular movie will have that kind of turn out. I remember when Star Trek, Star Wars and Harry Potter movies came out it was absolutely crazy in the theaters. I saw the first movie, Twilight, and wasn't all that excited about it. I guess because everyone spoke so highly about it so I was expecting a lot from it... but it's cool to see so many people excited that New Moon came out and that they're enjoying it :)

I hate to admit that I have never seen a Star Wars movie. Now Star Trek is a different story. Didn't see the new Star Trek at the theater, trying to get it from Redbox. Harry Potter have watched the movies at home. Sad to admit that I haven't read any of the books. Friends are already talking about seeing it again. Thanks for the response.

I didnt rush into the theater on the opening for new moon, but I have heard about it. Most of the people swarmed in, but the smartest ones bought their tickets online early. However, they ran inside too, otherwise they would run out of seats! I am not a huge fan of the twilight series, but I have heard that there are many extreme fans. Props toward new moon! =)

We had our tickets for about three months. We were standing in our line waiting to go into the auditorium and we were disgusted at the couples who were cutting into line instead of waiting their turn. My husband made some loud comments but the people just chose to ignore us. We were there at the same time with friends but we were afraid to try and find them in the auditorium so we grabbed the first four seats we could find. Thanks for the response.

I never expected to be as interested as I am in the Twilight series. My sister has the DVD "Twilight" and told me that I may not like it because I am more into non-fiction. Well I was surprised at how much I loved the movie and cannot wait to see "New Moon" BUT, I knew how mobbed the movie was going to be on opening night so I have decided to wait until it is on DVD (which is torturing myself). There is no way I could have dealt with the crowds.

I couldn't wait until it was released on DVD. You could always wait a couple of weeks and then go. You have so much willpower if you can actually wait! Thanks for the response.

ha ha ha ha ha... with all that hype being done prior to the movie, I would expect a large turnout! Just like the Harry Potter Movies. There was so much talk and promotions prior to the opening, come opening day, it was a riot! ha ha ha ha ha... so the movie was good eh? What is so special about this Twilight series that makes it so hyped up? I must have missed darn a lot of movies due to a busy schedule. Care to fill me in?

I didn't go opening night. I waited until Sunday at 10am so it wasn't bad but everywhere around us is sold out for a week. I really enjoyed new moon more then twilight. I still say Jacob is hotter then Edward. I guess he fits the part. I can't wait til the next one comes out. Makes me want to go read all the books over again.

I wanted to go to the midnight premier Thursday night/Friday morning but those kinds of things are more fun with friends and I didn't have anyone to go with Plus, I had to work early Friday morning so.... I watched the red carpet stream thingy on MySpace but that was just to see if they would interview Jackson Rathbone and... they didn't. They kept taking little breaks and the cameras would scan the crowd and I saw him walk through in one of those but otherwise no Jack. Made me a little sad.

I already have decided that for Eclipse I am going to the midnight show. I told my 13 year old that if she keeps her grades up she can go with me. A fellow employee took her two teens for the first show and called out yesterday, what a stinker! I didn't watch any thing on tv, but I did record the Ellen Show yesterday to watch. She had Rob P. on. He was awesome last year on her show. One of the trailers they showed was for a movie that Rob will be in, it looks awesome. I think it is called Remember Me.

I was one of those people who got mixed up at the New Moon madness. My boyfriend and I had been waiting for this movie for a long time, so we watched it on its first day. We didn't expect that there would be so many people in the theaters. I even got into a fight with the security guard because the ticket lines were so messed up.

Not me. The local radio station was discussing it on Friday. I went and saw the first one because so many people told me it was so great. I fell asleep in the theater. I even the read the book afterwards, because everyone told me that the book was ten times better then the movie. Too me, even though i didn't like the movie, I thought they did a great job of sticking to the book. It seemed to me that nothing was different. I hope everyone that is a fan of the series enjoys the new movie, but I don't think I will be seeing it. I just can't get into it.

Haha, I'd probably expect that as their first movie was such a success. I'm sure most Thai cinema's especially paragons' are probably full of new moon viewers. I've read the whole series and to tell you the truth, it is quite fantastic though I'm still afraid that they cannot make R.Patterson look the same for the whole 4 books and lets be honest, the fourth book was too much xxx for small children and I do not advise them to read it.

They did a great job with Rob for New Moon. I guess that is why they are filming them rather quickly. I think Stephanie M. did an awesome job with all 4 books. My 13 year old has read them all. My 8 year old has to wait, per me!!! Thanks for the response.
