using craigslist or ebay? Buying something from a garage sale? My son will be a year old on Dec 10. I want to get him a rocking horse. The one I found at Target is about $90. So I went to our local craigslist and found comparable horse for $30. It was in great shape. Not being able to afford $90 on a single item, I am thrilled to have found and bought it. What about you?

Hello ersmommy I use both craigslist and eBay, I have sold items on both bot have only bought items from eBay. The thing I like about craigslist is that for the time being it is free to list your item. My husband buys more from eBay than I do in fact lately I have been letting him use my mylot earnings through paypal to buy a few small items he wants through eBay. I always go through both eBay and craigslist when I am looking for something bigger to buy or sell. I especially love buying lots of kids clothes for cheap because with as fast as kids growI have really been ablet osave quite a bit on clothes and have found some really nice looking items for them. Other than those few lots of clothes i have really purchased anything where I have saved too much money.

Well, you know me, I hardly ever buy brand new if I don't have to. Although it's not often I actually buy from Craigslist.. I've sold on Craigslist before, and that was not easy! I buy from e-bay now and then, but it's been awhile since I've done even that! Well, for Christmas we want to get our 3 older kids each a Nintendo DS, and the 3 year old a V-Smile. At Walmart the DS is $130 minimum. So last night we went to Gamestop and I asked how much a used one was... $80 with a 1 year warranty. So we got 1 DS down, 2 more and a V-Smile to go!

Hello ersmommy. It is good that you have found the same item somewhere cheaper. I also love to compare and see more of the shops to see if I can get something similar at a cheaper price before getting it. I am very happy to know that your son will be one year old on December 10th. You are a very nice mother to have thought of getting something nice for him as a birthday present. I am sure that the baby will like it sitting on the rocking horse with a lot of fun. I wish your son a very Happy Birthday in advance. Happy parenting, ersmommy.

I don't use e-bay. I've only bought things on craigslist 2x thus far. I bought a no-name plastic race car bed frame for $30 I think and they go typically for $200+ the one that's similar is here http://www.littletikes.com/toys/sports-car-twin-bed.aspx but I don't think it was a little tykes we bought it when I saw it and my son was only a few months old. I also bought a very small lil tykes play house that was a lil faded but useable for $15. Funny on both of those items think people couldn't get them appart but my hubby could. Oh well our gain right? I hope your son likes his horse. We have a wooden one in the basement the kids loved when they were smaller. Hubby needs to tighten some of the bolts I think they are stripped or something but til he gets to looking at it my lil guy can't ride it.

I have been saving loose change daily since past year or so. And also every end of the month if i'm able to save some extra cash I deposit that also. I still haven't figured out what I'll do with so much but lets hope something comes up and I put it to good use. I have around 20$ saved up. That's around 1000 Rupees in India.

I buy stuff off of ebay all the time, especially for work. We use alot of computer and programable logistic equipment that often can bee found on ebay pretty cheap. The last "cards" that I bought would have cost us almost $400 dollars if I had bought them from the manufacturer but only paid about $150 off of ebay. There are the things I save the most money on online but I also shop for most all things through ebay before I buy anything. Gotta see if there is a bargin out there to be had.

Ebay us usually my preferred method of saving. I saved more than 100 euros in buying some MBT shoes. Garage sales are a little less effective because you don't have that much to choose, and I can't opine about craiglist, as I have never tried.
