hi there, yesterday i was outside with my girlfriend in the italian city of Sondrio, it's a small small city in the north of italy, we were walking and suddendly i started to heard music, firtsly i thinked "maybe is a local or a restaurant with music, but the music was the same everywhere, and i understood that the music was in all the city, in the wall on the street of every buildings there was a speaker, sppeakers everywhere, all connected to a central computer in the city center. Have you ever seen such things? where? do you think that is a good idea to make walk more enjoyable? thank you for your responses

There is a place near my that has a walk along the river that connects various restaurants and other businesses and it has speakers hidden in rocks under the trees that line the walkway. It is not all over the city, but it is nice.

Well each city has it's own identity which includes, smells, sounds and sights. I don't know why music couldn't be added. One would want to be able to get away from it so maybe just in the business areas and the main portion of the city. So like San Francisco's trolleys and fog horns, in china town you might hear Chinese music, and in the theater area music could vary from one show that was playing there to the next, Always they would have to be careful that none of the music was overpowering.
