Does your house cat like water?

Going through my files on my computer I came across a photo I had taken from my camera phone, of my cat Little bit sitting in our bath tub. It got me thinking about the times we, would have to give our cats a bath. Well I did most of the work, but still. Little bit would walk around and cry until said bath was over. Precious, I had to subdue him with a kitty downer to get him clean. And well our third cat mostly cried . They didn't seem to enjoy getting wet. As a rule most cats don't like being wet or cold. Humans generally are the same way. But, what I want to know, is are there any cat owners out there that have house cats that actually enjoy getting a bath?

My cats are really the non water type. They can't stand it. One of them even freaks out when he even gets water sprinkle on him.

LOl Sounds like the house cats I had growing up. Though my cat Little bit doesn't mind if he gets petted when my hands are soaking wet. Beyond that he freaks.

My older cat LOVED water when she was a baby.I don't know why she grew out of it,but she did. When I used to take showers, she used to try to get in there with me and a few times actually managed to do so. She'd also follow my daughter and I into the bathroom and sit in the sink, while we were using the restroom. But now, if you even try to give her a bath, it's a bad time to deal with.Anyway, I get why cats don't like water, but I don't understand why one that liked it before would grow out of it.

I have never had a cat that enjoyed a bath. I once had a cat that loved running water. Not just to play with, but to drink as well. When she wanted a drink from the tap, she would get into the laundry tub and start licking the tap. She wanted us to know the tap on slowly, so that she could have a lovely long drink. Once or twice I have had to give my cats a bath. This was when one cat got poo all over her, and another jumped into my neighbours sump oil. Needless to say, neither cat liked their bath. One of my cats has fallen into the swimming pool threee times. She gets oyt straight away, and with her very long fur, she looks like a drowned rat.

I gave a kitten to a friend, and Leila - the cat - loved to jump into the bathtub with anyone. She'd swim around if it were deep enough!

my current cat was adopted in dec 07, and i havent bathed him yet. he is indoors and he is clean. he doesnt need a bath anyways. so i am not sure if he likes to be wet or not. but my late cat, i had to bathe her because she used to get fleas from my late shihtzus. and she tolerated baths. maybe she got used to it. or she just trusted me. my late shihtzus enjoyed baths as well.

My cat likes water. But the most he likes our country milk, what is very fat. For cat milk is not got. Some month ago we gave him milk as he wanted. After it was problems with health. Veterinarian said to us: we can't give him milk. So now we always memember about it.

None of my cats enjoy taking a bath because they think that water is evil. I do not know why my Goldie hates water because I have always given her baths, but she hates it. Lucky loves drinking water and he loves putting his paws in water, but that is it.

None of my cats has ever enjoyed getting wet either. As a kid, I remember trying to bathe my cats. My cats ended up pretty clean and wonderful-smelling - I, however, always ended up with lots of scratches and terrified cats. It always did amaze me how my cats looked so skinny when they were wet. Cats just like drinking water, I'm yet to find one that does enjoy getting wet.
