Does it matter to you that the things you buy for yourself are branded?

I know of a friend whose belongings are all branded even if it cost a lot.He says that even if it is expensive, it lasts or it will take years for her to use it.But one time, she was sad because her branded shoes were stolen. On the other hand, my other friend doesn't matter the brand of the things she buys, what matters for her is that she likes the product and affordable for her.How about you?Does it matter that the things you buy for yourself are branded?

hi friend, i used to go for any brand which i like and affordable,i dont mind its a branded or not, even its a cheap one also i used get it.But my hubby is entirely opposite ,he prefers only branded items.he never likes the cheap products.According to me,for some of things which are going to long last example TV,dinning table,Lounge..you can go for branded ones. But for some simple things like clothes,clocks,bags...i feel that its necessary to go for branded ones.

It used to be that if you bought brand name items they were made better from better quality materials and would therefore last longer and work better. This is no longer true. Now it seems to me to be very foolish to pay extra money for certain logos. I especially think it is silly to buy expensive brandname clothing for children. They outgrow everything so quickly and I think it just silly to dress kids up in clothing that they can't play and be comfortable in. I hate to see little kids get into trouble for spilling something on their designer clothes. There are so many other more important things to think about.

I like branded items if they are reasonably priced. However some designer brands are just a rip off. Paying hundreds of dollars for a pair of designer jeans just means someone is getting rich on your gullibility. These jeans are probably made in some third world sweatshop for a few dollars.

I try not to weigh myself down with the worry of brand names. I choose the products that I like the best. If they happen to be brand names, it will just be a coincidence.

Of course, I would be sad. I spend money and time to select things I like. Then they are branded. How can I be OK with that. And I d't think anyone would be fine with that.

I don't buy branded clothes and shoes. I cannot afford to buy it in the first place. I buy clothes which are not expensive and which I feel very comfortable. I am a very practical person and if I spend much, I would rather spend it for the improvement of my house.

Well no not really it just depends on what I'm buying, for example if its skin care products like face wash or lotion then I prefer those to be name brand, but if its clothing items no it doesn't really matter as long as it's looks great on me and the cost is affordable, another example would be food items I occasionally buy store brand foods such as milk chips bread, but I also buy name brand foods too, it sometimes depends on my budget, in my opinion I think people, put to much infuses on weather or not its name brand because to me its more important to be able to afford what I'm buying especially in these tough times. dont get me wrong quality is important too, but you would be surprised how good some of those store brand items are, sometimes you can't really tell that they are not a name brands.

For me it's not so much about the label but the quality. For example I buy Vans shoes because I know they are good shoes. They are made, originally, for skateboarders so they are meant to hold up to rough treatment. And since I don't really put them through the same kind of abuse that a skateboarder would, they last even longer for me... like, years. I've had the same pair of Vans for about four years now. To me, they are worth the extra cost. The same is true with my jeans. I don't buy really expensive jeans, Levis and L.E.I., but they are definitely more than the "store brands." But I've found that if I need a new pair of jeans, I can just go to the Levis rack, grab the cut and size that I always get and they'll fit. With the store brands, I always have to try them on because sometimes they have a slight variation in size, enough to make them uncomfortable, or they were sewn slightly crooked... The brands I buy, I buy because I've found them to be consistent.

hi bren^^;; yeah i buy branded ones (but not those luxury brands that cost an arm and a leg) when i like the product and fits me well. i usually go on for comfortability and quality that's why i chose them. although some cheaper items can also last long so i buy them too as long as it satisfy me..there are times that i go to thrift shop and find good items at lower cost so it's just a matter of ways to buy branded items.

For me it doesn't matter if my stuff are branded or not, I just go for quality and try to be practical about purchases. I am definitely not a slave to brand name stuff as sometimes not everyone can afford brand name items. I love Victoria Secret's Beauty Rush lip gloss, if however, I find that I can't afford it anymore (God forbids), I will not go crazy. I'll just find an alternative one that is just as good (if possible). Anyway, non-branded things can be just as good.

hi bren_yrra, Before, I was so amazed in having branded items which either, I got from my sister, parents, aunts who live in the states or from my own pocket. I also love glancing on top branded items and I usually check-out what's new and hot especially with shoes, clothes and electronic gadgets. Then lately, I lost interest in buying branded stuff, I am so contented with my "not so expensive items". Hahaha... What I am trying to say is, there are items that are not branded but still are good buy. I used to have impression for branded as durable, in-fashion, in-style and "cool". lolz... But in the long run either you wear stuff that are expensive or not, it really depends on how well you carry it, or how you show it off. I mean, if it was like clothes... I really don't choose expensive brands, I go for more cheaper or affordable and well-made items. Same with shoes. But if an item is branded and on-sale then, that would be awesome. But when it comes to electronics...I really opt to buy branded items and I really invest for them. Buying cheaper most of the time cost you a lot in the end when it comes to electronic gadgets and stuff. Happy Lotting!

Nope, not anymore. I have given-up buying things that are branded at the same time I got married. Their are better priorities right now than those branded, expensive ones. As long as the generics are all okay to me, then I would prefer it over the branded ones. Of course my children prefer the branded ones and I cannot dispute that with them. But for me, no more branded jeans and clothings.

for me it doesn't matter at all if it branded or not as long as it fits my taste and the quality is good. if you want your things to lasts long then it depends on you how you handle them whether it is branded or not. almost of my things are not branded but i still have them for many years already, like my shoes, bags and clothes. actually what makes a branded products expensive is their branded name i mean they already have a name in the industry and people are looking up to them already.

I buy whatever looks good on me and whatever fits me. I do not care about brands. I just want something that fits me and makes me look good. I say this because I think that brands are stupid, and it is so hard to find clothes that fit me properly. I am in between sizes, I am between a Misses 14 and a Misses 12. You can all imagine how hard it is for me to find clothes. As long as the clothes fit me, then I just wear them. Who cares what brand it is?

It doesn't really matter to me. If a top is nice, and well made, I'll buy it.

The 'brand' mania is here to stay but I do not believe in it unless the product itself is good. Sometimes even small manufacturers come out with good items which we tend to ignore because they are not known. And what about designer clothes the only difference there is that you pay for that label and stay in the 'in' crowd!!!

I am not that much into brands and pick up the things i like from anywhere . But i first check the quality of the product i pick up because some things are good to see but do not last as log as i would like. But branded products give us a guarantee on quality.

It's a matter of taste. In the past I would care a lot about my clothes being from one brand or another, but now I care more about the design than about the name written on the label. There are many super cheap clothes that look very cool and last for long, so now I only care about actually liking that piece of clothing :)
