People who try to convince you God exists, go through great lengths and pains to convince you why he exists. To me, all explanations as to whether God exists or not does not sound logical. So what is your take on it? Does God exist? Give me a logical argument. Lets discuss this in depth.

I do not believe in god nor do, I choose to listen when some holly roller comes knocking at my door. The bible written 100 ways and counting is a great fiction novel ever wrote , though lacks all evidence to support it therefor ,I cannot believe.I believe only what ,I see like green grass or a blue sky even something on TV that has proof behind it .I would even like to believe the statement piece on earth but see no evidence of this happening in my life time. I am with you no logical explanation until ,I meet the great creator .I will stick to believing that the sky is blue and grass is green This I have seen with my own eye's.

So you hear about God and start to question.Instead of searching for God, you ask people to give you a logical reason that God should exist. How does this sound to you??? Strange?? Proof of any knowledge falls upon those who seek such knowledge.Scientists have a belief then go about searching for proof. You ask for a logical reason you should even try to search.God does exist.Your discovery of this fact depends entirely on you. What do you really want?? Prove to me that God really does exist. The challenge is on you!!!

Please read my discussion very very carefully bird123. I am a strong believer that we should believe what we choose to believe. and i do not really appreciate you trying to push your believes on me. I choose not to believe in God for the reasons stated above. I have many more reasons like the political association religions have and how it influences human behviour. I believe in cause and effect relationships. I believe in Science. If God is real to you...then He is only real to you and you should not let anyone make you think otherwise. You should als perhaps try to listen to people's views with an open mind? :)

For me I believe just because when I needed God he was there for me and still is. I also believe because I have a guardian angel in my life which I believe God sent to me to save my life. When I was trying to excape the World Trade Center on 9/11 I started saying to myself when I had only reached the 62nd floor that I didn't think I was going to make it out. Then I heard a female talking in my ear saying "Janet you have to get out of the building", she repeated this three or 4 times. I didn't realize how much I really needed to get out of the building of course, until hours later. I was saved by my guardian angel telling me to get out. This is one of many reasons I believe there is a God.

It is indeed an honour to meet a survivor here on mylot responding to my discussion. Thank you! I respect your views and decision. Yes to you, it may have appeared like god, others may say it is your conscience talking to you even others can argue that your conscience IS god. Well, I will leave everyone to their believes. This discussion was not started to change anyone's believes. Just to throw my views out there and listen to everyone else's in return. Of course if I choose to disagree, I will not pose my argument here unless I am asked to. In your case, I am glad that your consience? self-survival mechanism? guardian angel? God? which ever you would like to call it helped you survive 911. Thanks for responding once again. :)

Ok, so I'll take your responses one by one: 1)The method used for dating the earth is called Carbon Dating, which judges the age by measuring the amount of carbon 14 in any given item. this has been proven faulty because the amount of carbon14 entering the earths atmosphere is not constant, and the half-life of carbon14 isn't anywhere near as long as once thought. 1.2)fossils show the evidence of the existance of these other creatures with similarities to birds, but offer no evidence to a connection, is, the theory of the "missing Link". As for DNA, yes, you're right about identifying lineage, but it only works for same species. There is a lot of what is called "junk DNA" that is as yet uidentified. the peppered moth is evidence of adaption, not evolution. as I stated earlier, much that is called evolution is really adaption. look it up in a dictionary. This is all I can write at the moment, but i'll write more later. I'm truely enjoying this discussion, and wish to continue it. Your respnse is well though out, and lacks the animosity I've encountered on other sites.

Hmm...I must confess this knowledge is new to me. I did a little reading up and just realised that carbon dating depends on the ratio of C12 and C14 in the atmosphere which fluctuates every year. Scientists are only able to accurately date specimens that are thousands of years old, nothing beyond that, anything beyond that is doubtful. So I guess you got a point there...but even if the earth is not that old, it does nt hold any weight to the existence of God for me, just that scientists were flawed in their calculation. One must understand the nature of science. it is called a 2-track system if im not wrong. scientists assume something is right from all the evidence they have until they are proven wrong. then they discard it and adopt a new theory and find evidences to support that. for instance, scientists thought that the earth was flat. this was one track that scientists abandoned and jumped onto a new track when it was proven irrefutably that the earth is round. With that in mind, let me turn to fossils. yes...there is a missing link and and it is just a matter of time before scientists find it. It is just like how humans thought that the sun was a God before realising it is just a celestial body. So I dont think we can attribute the missing link or junk DNA to God yet. right now we r on one track of this DNA argument. once we have figured out what the missing link is, then science will choose to either stay on this track, or abandon it and jump to another track. Science is all about evidence. Logical. God is all about experience, psychological. Id rather believe in the science of psychological experiences one has with "God" then to give any real credit to the existence of God itself. I hope this makes sense. Those who believe in God...PLEASE CONTINUE DOING SO! Im not saying it is wrong. different people have different ways of deriving the faith to move on...to have a sense of hope. I have just placed my faith and hope in science instead...not some Godly experience. Peace All!
