Over 25 million phones in India will stop ringing tomorrow.. blocked by the Govt. due to security concerns. Calls will not be allowed on the headsets without IMEI number after November 30. Although there is some procedure of getting some identify number but seems bit complicated. Is it right to penalize the subscribers who bought those sets without knowing about any such concern, and why the govt. allowed the sales of such phones without IMEI number? You can get if your phone is with IMEI or not by simply dialing *#06# and if it has no IMEI for sure will not work from tomorrow... lol.

WOW!! That's big news in india huh!! What's gonna happen to those ple without and IMEI phone?? WIl the government compensate them, to buy a brand new one?? haha =D
I guess those phones are much cheaper and thus ple buy them.. IF not, who wont want to own a real legal phone with securities?? haha =D Governments should actually step in to help, especially among those poor, because they might be easily cheated by dishonest vendors too.. haha

That is a real shame. But weigh the convenience of cell phones against the murder of innocent children, men and women and the problem seems small. I assume they are concerned that phones will be used to detonate bombs? It seems to me a good move. People are too dependent on cell phones anyway, maybe this will help some people break their cell phone addiction.
Sorry you have to take such measures!
