Why do people kill?

It is only about power and nothing else when a man feels that he must own a woman or when a woman clings to a man who no longer wants her. In a true love relationship there is no need for jealousy and possessiveness and no room for it either. Lust is something different. But if you love someone and they want someone else, you want them to be happy, you let them go. You don't commit violence in the name of love. If someone flirts with your wife and she loves you there is no way that the flirting can destroy your relationship or make anything bad happen. Surely if a women flirted with you, you would not run off from your wife and be with the stranger! So why is it any different with her? Nobody ever kills for love. They kill out of greed and selfishness and lust, but most of all out of the lust for power, to control the other person.

How come you say that insane jealousy is about power not love? Can you say that a man who killed someone who is courting her wife is about power? I do not think so, there are people who have jealous personality in nature. And if they know that someone is trying to ruin their love life, they became aggressive and angry, sometimes that feelings cannot be stopped, is it because of power? No?! of course, he is just trying to save the relationship that he cherishes. Power is really different from love you know. I can tell you that because i myself have a personality like that, i really get mad and sometimes an immediate feeling of sadness and anger if there are people trying to flirt with my wife, but that is not power, cause i always follow my wife and i am under my wife's power. It means she have power over me not me having power over her. So still the reason for that is that i love my wife so much and i do not want something bad happens to her and i do not want this hard earned relationship be destroyed by just whoever who wants to destroy it. So is it power? It is defense mechanism for my love to my wife and family.

Will i let them go even if it is for the family? Let us say, the couple already have two kids? Will we still let it happen? I don't think so, The parents love their kids so much, do you think they will let the future of their kids will be ruined? If it is really power how can you say that? And explain me those instances that i stated? Ok, lets just say, a couple love each other so much, the man love the girl so much , and there is a stalker, and the woman doesn't want the guy? Do you think the man will just let something happen to the girl? Answer me? Is it power? or is it the love for the girl? Another, a serial killer, wants to kill your kids.... Will you let them? Of course you will not, is it still power? or is it because the love for your children? Can you explain it? Power also a factor on killing people, but power has nothing to do with love in terms of people killing people just for love. Another question, let us not talk about jealousy, let us talk about love in general that results to killing. For example, a man is threatening your wife, that if she will not submit to him, he will kill her and the family, and the woman being honest and love the husband so much tell it to the husband, what do you think will happen? People have different point of views in this matter and have different way of solving this kind of things... Do you think, the man will just let her wife submit herself to the stalker just for the sake of someone will not get hurt? The man loves the woman so much, what do you think will happen? When we speak of jealousy, it is really deep, jealousy is not only insecurities that maybe the love of the partner will be gone because of the new one, but also for security and the feeling of do not want something bad to happen, there is a fear, of the possibilities that may happen. We cannot focus on jealousy only on a man is jealous because the women is already in love with the other it is not it. Jealousy is really different it is very deep and sometimes unexplainable. It also depends on the person who will perceive the word. Maybe in general it is the meaning, but there are much deeper meanings on it. And it has nothing to do with power my dear. Kindly answer my questions and explain it to me thoroughly that it is about power not love. All my questions. Can you, tell me and prove to me that it is POWER not LOVE.

I agree with you, no matter what the reason is, killing people is really bad. Whether it is because of money, love, power and or everything it is still sad. Very sad also to know that everyday, people chooses the wrong side of life, which is to end someones life on their own hands. We do not know the actual reason for it but it is really bad. But, we cannot also say that, those people are really bad and need to be punished accordingly cause they are only humans just like us, and we commit mistakes. Sometimes no matter how hard we try to stop ourselves from doing those things, we cannot anymore control our emotions specially when it is really too much. There are people who kill for good, meaning, they kill others for the greater good, and no matter what happen to them after it, what important still is that, the others or the majority will be in good hands. But killing is bad. I don't know, it is really confusing, maybe we can relate killing from lying. We all know that lying is really a bad thing, but sometimes people still do lie just for the sake of their love ones or just for the sake of the much big population. Anyway, no matter what the reason is and no matter how hard the situation is, i think the best for us people to do is that, pray, release and think of a much better way to solve the problem and decide accordingly.

I very much agree with you my friend, all what you said is true and precisely the reason of other people killing others. It is the fear, fear of loosing someone, fear of loosing power and fear of loosing greed. Insecurity is also another factor of those things. When an animal is afraid of being hurt by people, the animal automatically becomes aggressive and will hurt people. It is like a snake, snake is really not that aggressive and really not born to kill people, but why do they kill people? Because when they see one, they fear it because it is bigger than them, and the fear of being hurt or killed by that human is there, animals also have the feelings like that, and that is the reason why they became aggressive and attacks people. Another example is that, the Piranhas, as we all know, piranhas are very dangerous creatures because of it's aggressiveness, but it is really wrong, i have a piranha here in our house, i b\observe and study it's behavior. Piranhas are very peaceful and calm creatures, but when there are fishes to enter his territory he kills it immediately, why? It is because of the fear of loosing its territory. And another piranha kills fishes or any living thins that will fall on the river on the wild because they are so many and there is a fear that, they will loose they're share in the food chain, that is why aggressively they eat and kill every living thing that will be trapped on the river where they are residing, it is the fear of being hungry. Perfectly written response my friend, it is really fear and insecurities.

What else can i say, you hit the nail in my head, we have the same point view. People kill because of the greed, the innocence and the love or let's just say, selfishness reason to protect our selves from emotional distress. Some are already out of sanity. But... whatever reason we people may have, still, killing others is bad, maybe it is not wrong, but it is bad. But still it is wrong because we humans kill for self defense because of again, ourselves. Another selfish reason that cannot be accepted but in reality other people accepts. It is really a scary thing, but we must also fear ourselves cause of that fear, because fear can also make us kill other people, fear that will further develop to paranoia.

Hi rjvb26, I would like to add one more point. People kill might due to their experiences when they were small or young. According to some psychological facts, if someone had experienced certain violence, unfair or unacceptable treatments when they were small or young, the reflection will appear when they grown up. This kind of negative impressions in their mind might interrupt their life or mislead their thinking from time to time. If they do not seek help from professionals, like social workers, doctors or psychologists, it might cause them suffering from mental sickness. You are right about that, people are not satisfied with what they already have that sometimes, it result on killing others. The more greed the higher the chances of killing. The more dissatisfaction the more greed a person will feel. And that will result to a sad but true situation. Have a nice day.

I also really do hope that this time justice will prevail, but i think, justice can be paid nowadays specially when the suspect is really a rich man. To think on stopping this kind of things really sucks cause killing will surely not stop, because people kill with different reasons and principles in life. But, whatever the reason maybe, still, killing is a bad choice on settling the score.

You are right with that, and that makes us humans, we all commit mistakes and we all have the capability of committing mistakes. And we can include killings on that mistakes. There are many reasons why people kill people, but POWER and JEALOUSY, just like what you stated are big factors. We can compare POWER and JEALOUSY on GREED and PRIDE, those two are one of the seven deadly sins. People kill for greed in general and people kill because of their pride. People can also kill cause of selfishness. But of course we cannot compare all the people with Cain and Abel only, cause people have differences. Just like what i have said there are many reasons why people kill. A + factor is the need, there are people who kill others even innocent lives because of the need depending on the situation. For example, a father killed a gangster because the gangster is threatening his son, then it is not power and jealousy but it is because of the father's love for his son, and also he wanted to protect his son, it is a matter of self defense.
