I make sure I have a schedule like have dinner, some stories, brush the teeth then into the cot. My toddler son and baby daughter go to bed between six thirty and seven in the evening. My baby likes naps during the day. My son sometimes has an early afternoon snooze. My toddler son goes to a playgroup for disabled children. He likes to play in the day and he needs catheter care in the day plus the night. My daughter wakes up early in the morning for a feed. She can wake anytime from 3 to 6 in the morning. The latest she has woken was 8 in the morning.

Right now, for his afternoon nap what I'm doing is, by lunch I'll feed him with solid food then, I'll give him a bath and then after that I'll send him to bed with milk. let him wake up on his own by around 3 or 4 o clock in the afternoon then let him play for the afternoon or walk in the park so he'll get tired again. for the evening, same thing, I'll feed him. let him do his tricks/games after that, I'll clean him up and then, we both go to the room with milk and turn off the light, by no time he is sleeping on his own.

Well I dont make them go to sleep that is something they must do themselves but routine helps you know if you child knows what to expect then then they are more likely to do it. My girls routine is that they have their dinner then a bath and then they read a sotry or watch a bit of tv but I find it is best if they are sat down and relaxing then they go upstairs and brush teeth use toilet and into bed they go this works brilliantly for us, not forgetting of course for us is that if they are tired they will go to sleep :o)

as a mother, i see to it that my child sleeps on time. From 6-15 months most of the babies sleep twice in a day.morning and afternoon.but when reaching the age of 18months it will trim down to one nap per day, mostly in the afternoon. Your question is how to get a child go to sleep on time. For me its a matter of training your child. My child is now a toddler she sleeps before 8 in the evening. we have our dinner on time too so that we still have more time together like teaching her some new ryhmes...or reading short stories..i always tell my child to sleep early so that she will grow fast and become healthy.
