I rarely cuss because it truly bugs me when others do. They are trying to express their anger in words when their tone and facial expressions do it just fine. Some of the younger generations do it to look and sound cool like their peers and adults form a habit of it. It seems to be a never-ending cycle with a few people thrown in that don't follow the footsteps of their friends and parents. My best friend and I don't like cussing and rarely, if ever, do it. Now, with songs having profanity in them, I have seen an even bigger rise of it and its quite frustrating.

Lack of ability to find another word, habit, learned behavior from others, to fit in with a group, to be sure that others know how upset they are - there are lots of reasons. None of them are good reasons but there are lots of them. When I cuss there was usually something else I could have said that would have been a better choice.
