Is Macy's slowly becoming less high-end?

What's your opinion on this? Ever since I started working there (at Macy's), I realize that a lot of the prices are MUCH cheaper than I had expected, and a lot of the brands that they used to have (Chanel, Ed Hardy, Juicy Couture, Eileen Fisher) - a lot of stores no longer carry - and have been replaced with less expensive, and less-high-end brands like Karen Scott. Has anyone else noticed this? Is "high end" just not SELLING as well as it used to, or what happened?!

Believe it or not I have never been into a Macys, I don't even know where the closest one is to us but I did hear something like this the other day. I believe it sounds like they are going to be keeping their same name brand clothes but adding some affordable stuff as well which is always nice. I think with the recession businesses are just realizing that "high end" isn't selling as well and if they want to stay in business they need to bring their prices within a "reality" stand point of price
